         <title>Prehistoric or Ancient Mediterranean Art: Bull Leapers</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The specific artist of this work is unknown, but it was done somewhere between 1450 and 1375 BC.  It is a fresco painting, which means that the artist painted on freshly applied plaster. It was discovered in the Palace of Knossos and is one of the many things that demonstrate the importance of bulls in Minoan culture. </div>]]></description>

It is painted on the side of a wooden shrine at the Buddhist Horyu-ji Temple in Nara. It is a great example of how storytelling and continuous narratives were a big part of Japanese art.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is a painted buffalo hide that was done by one of the Native American tribes of the Great Plains, like the Lakota or the Crow. It was completed somewhere between 1797 and 1800, and it gives a very naturalistic representation of the battle that occurred in 1797 between the Mandan and Sioux tribes. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>While this is just a drawing done by Sydney Parkinson in 1784, it displays one of the unique art forms of the Maori of New Zealand. They had tattoos with intricate line and dot patterns that served as milestones throughout the wearer's life. The earliest known tattoos date back to 3000 BC. </div>]]></description>
