HABITAT: The green iguana’s extensive range comprises the rain forests of northern Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean Islands, and southern Brazil. They spend most of their lives in the canopy, descending only infrequently to mate, lay eggs, or change trees.
THREATS: Iguanas' stout build gives them a clumsy look, but they are fast and agile on land. They have strong jaws with razor-sharp teeth and sharp tails, which make up half their body length and can be used as whips to drive off predators. They can also detach their tails if caught and will grow another without permanent damage.
CONSERVATION ACTIVITIES:
Certain organizes such as the project use interactive exhibits and programs to help educate visitors and create awareness among the general public.

HABITAT: Live in a terrestrial system in Forests, Wetlands (inland). Usually intemperate Nothofagus forests, in South America (Chile and Argentina). Can also present itself in forest bogs.
THREATS: Darwin's Frogs are currently an endangered species. In the northern habitats the problem is with pine forestry and drought, while in the south the biggest threat to this specie is the clear-cutting of forests and the replacement of native forests with tree plantations. There has also been recent cases of chytridiomycosis, an infections disease that affects amphibians, caused by the fungus Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis. Though not yet proven, Volcanic eruptions might impact on some subpopulations.
CONSERVATION: In the southern areas (Chile), there are currently two ex situ initiatives, led by Universidad de Concepción - Zoo Leipzig (since 2009) and Zoológico Nacional de Chile - San Antonio Zoo, Texas since 2010 (C. Castro, A. Charrier pers. comm. July 2015). There remains a need for improved maintenance and protection of native forest habitats, particularly in the north. Marine and Terrestrial protection is the most important action to take, and researching more about the specie itself. For example, checking the population size, understanding its threats and monitoring the specie.

Conservation Actions: "A Recovery Plan for this species was prepared in 2004 (Schulz and Lumsden 2004). The plan’s implementation was reviewed by James and Retallick (2007), who considered that most actions had been implemented, although not sufficiently to determine the cause of the decline."
Summary: Although largely unknown, possible threats include habitat loss and change, predation, disease, and competition. Because it was difficult to identify the threats for this species, implementation of a plan for conservation was insufficient.

Habitat: Temperate forests in New Zealand

Threats: Predation by cats, stoats, and rats introduced by human settlers. Abnormally low egg fertility and natural reproduction rates.

Conservation: The species is legally protected by the New Zealand government. All individuals are tagged and monitored. Genetic diversity of the population is being managed, and nests are monitored with cameras to improve reproductive success. Recently, kakapo have been successfully bred using artificial insemination. Invasive species that preyed on the kakapo have also been eradicated on the island where kakapo are present.

Habitat: The siberian chipmunk is most prevalent in the forest, shrubland in Russia and the surrounding pre-Soviet nations.

Major Threats: Currently, there are no major threats to this species. However, in 2014, over 3,000 chipmunks were hunted in Mongolia in only one hunting season. This was a record breaking number of Siberian chipmunks hunted in one hunting season but nevertheless, there are still no major threats.

Conservation Activities: The South Siberian Mountain Range is the main habitat for these chipmunks, although they span throughout all of Russia. Luckily, most of the mountain range is protected land that has strict laws against infrastructure and hunting. Currently, there are water protection laws being passed since toxins were found in water sources in this mountain range. However, this range has been and is planning to remain protected for many years ahead.

A regional threat in the mountains near large urban centers, especially Los Angeles, is air pollution (ozone in particular), which if not killing the trees may weaken them and so become more prone to attacks from pests. Air pollution is now a major problem in some of the famous national parks in the Sierra Nevada, where this species is abundant.
Conservation Actions: This species is present in many protected areas, among which are several famous national parks.
