I think, based on slide 16, that the dark ages were as dark as they said they were because it talks about how Rome didn't believe in learning, had no government, had a terrible economy and kept getting invaded. It concludes with saying that Rome was a miserable place to live. So therefore, based on this slide, I believe Rome was really as dark as explained in our textbook, online, etc.
