Yes, it's true- I have given the Second and Third Graders an assignment to complete over the break. (Optional for Firstborn graders.)

The assignment is to write a speech to share your experience and parting sentiments re: AISU. Think: valedictorian speech. I will select a handful of the best speeches the kids wrote, to be presented during the graduation ceremony. This is one way in which we can honor the AISU Legacy and our time as a class.

TIME TO RETURN YOUR COMPUTER EQUIPMENT!!!
PLEASE send any classroom equipment that you might have to school next week with your child. That includes chrome books, chargers and books. If I don't collect all the equipment before the last day of school, I will be held accountable for the missing equipment, and I will have to pay $200 per missing computer. I know I can count on you to return the loaned items, and I appreciate your help in facilitating the returns!

IN THE NEWS

Our Read-A-Thon was a blast! With the exception of 25 minutes for PE, the students spent every minute of the class-time hours doing some form of reading. Thats FIVE (5) hours of reading today at school! We read books out loud, individually, listened to story time as a class and read to a friend one-on-one.

In an effort to find a new school for next year, I took a job interview and had to leave school a little early this afternoon. Consequently, I was unable to send home the written records of all that was read.

I will send those sheets home on Wednesday, MAY 29th. Please send the envelopes back with the money that they earned on Friday, May 31st. The PTO will turn that money into book coupons for BOGO (buy one get one free). Money that has already been turned in is in my safe at school.

No School on Thursday, Friday or Monday (May 23rd-27th): Remember that tomorrow is a newly scheduled day off. AISU is giving back Thursday so as to allow time for students and teachers to go and interview, tour and research schools for next year.

Tuesday, May 27th: Ms. Jessica is out, substitute scheduled to fill in.

Wednesday, May 28th, 1pm: Graduation practice, field.

Friday, May 31st: Return Read-A-Thon envelopes.

June 3rd-5th: BOGO Book Fair! Come and spend the money you collected during the Read-A-Thon. It's a BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) on all books!

Thursday, June 6th: Carnival Field Day! Our time on the field will be from 2pm-3pm, we invite any parents (not required) to come and have fun with their child during field day : )

Last Day of School will be on Friday, June 7th

For those who purchased yearbooks, they will be passed out on the last day of school.
