4. Visit two of your peers' padlet sites.  Read and comment on their spliced poems.  

I am swelling in hope as I am in lies.

I rise from the river, fierce as a blackbird in autumn winds.

I traced the stormy sun as it drifts along, and over the mountains of history's inescapable shame.

Among the coalmen and the cedar-limbs, I breathe the air.

I walk like I've got the ocean's rhythms selling in my chest.

The snowy mountains echo with the pulse of the men and women.

A southerner in snow-shoes, I trod lucid tides.

Against the bright tide of youth whirls in the woods.

From the Oconee to the freight yards, I am of every hue.

I believe my joints are limber, my cry barbaric and bold.

I dance with raftsmen, with suns I cannot imagine.

The shadow of my name crosses the vale of Elkhorn sharply.

I am the dream, the wind, the laughter, the fight.

Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Breathe the air but leave plenty after me,

They travel the earth gathering essences of plants to clean.

I was of three minds, Like a tree

I resist any thing better than my own diversity,

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear

Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear

Icicles filled the long window, with barbaric glass.

Acknowledge this earth who has cared for you

Maternal as well as paternal, a child as well as a man,

When you find your way to the circle,

to the fire kept burning by the keepers of your soul,

you will be welcomed.

The carpenter dresses his plank, the tongue of his plane whistles its wild ascending lisp,
It was evening all afternoon.
The silence of the desert sang in my ear,
And my shadow folded into the grass.

I am large, I contain multitudes.
The river is moving, the blackbird must be flying.
Her voice was the hush of wind across stone,
And every face carried another story.
