Art Supply Kits

Art Supply Kits will be coming to the address that is in Connexus. I do not know when they will arrive so please be on the lookout.

Parents, If you have concerns about a certain material that your student is being asked to obtain for the class, please come to me with your questions. I am happy to share ideas and alternatives.

Parents,
Please let your students do their own drawing, painting, gluing and clay work.
I do not expect perfectly clean and neat work from my young artists.
I do expect to see a little too much glue or mushy paper or paint splotches. It is all a part of the process of learning.
I will work with your children throughout the year to help them develop skills in art that support their fine motor development, their creativity and their interests. You are a part of the learning team. If you know your student does not like getting their hands dirty in clay or paint, let me know. I have lots of ways to help support them.

Live Sessions (zoom with Class) Schedule for Wyoming Connections Academy Students

Students will have group sessions once a month. They are optional enrichment sessions that incorporate literacy and art or math and art or science and art together. All materials are things you already have at home. You should not need to purchase any outside materials.

The schedule and link to my class session will be posted here and in the planner.

Recordings and read-a-louds will be posted here after the lessons are concluded for the month.

K-1 Session (1st Friday at 9 AM MT)

2-3 Session (1st Friday at 11 AM MT)

4-5 Session ( 1st Friday at 12 PM MT)

First Fridays are as follows:

December 6th

January 10th (Yes I know it is the second Friday but we are out on vacation on the 3rd)

April 4th

May 2nd

If I am out on an art Friday for any reason, state testing, illness, I will post a recording here on this padlet for your use.

Visual Thinking Strategies Exercise Questions

Our students will be working starting in grade three on Visual Thinking Strategies this year.
These three questions are related to students greater focus on aesthetic principles, informational text strategies, and understanding their world.

You will hear me in zoom state the following questions:

What's going on in this image?
What do you see that makes you say that?
What more can you find?

I encourage parents to use these three questions even in younger grades when reading a text and looking at picture books.
