It was an exciting activity, with interesting conferences, intensive language practice, lovely places and wonderful people.
A very special and touching moment for me was the marvelous boat trip along the Loch Katrine: such an incredible landscape, such a great company... I can't find the words to describe it, simply unforgettable.

The whole activity was a great experience. I would like to highlight the visit to the Edinburgh Central Children's Library. It is a lovely and cool place where children start their reading. The city government spends quite money promoting the reading of children. There, we could browse lots of children's books. It was very interesting. Toñi Peral Baena

Wednesday July 4th, 22:46.
Sunset from Calton Hill. A good ending to a long day in the best possible company. The feeling that I have now is of weariness, but it was worth it to traipse the streets of Edinburgh to discover unforgettable corners, like this one. The sun gives a reddish color to a city based on the gray of its stones and the green of its parks. Great postcard!

Edinburgh: a wonderful and unforgettable experience , without no doubt. I´m still dizzy after watching so much beauty together in such a small space: amazing castles, beautiful churches, enchanted streets, lovely gardens, cathedrals, sculptures and so on… All Edinburgh is like a magic world taken from the past but full of life. That´s why it´s so difficult to choose only one picture. On this occasion, I´ve selected “ The Wallace Monument” , a 67 metre sandstone tower standing on a hilltop overlooking Stirling. It commemorates Sir William Wallace, a XIIIth century Scottish hero. However, the reason for my choice is not the monument itself, awesome ( it´s true) but what it symbolises (in my humble opinion) : the respect, the admiration and the pride all Scottish people feel for their history and their people : writers, philosophers, scientists , Warriors, heroes etc.

Spending these days in Edinburgh has been an unforgetable experience. Enjoyng this trip together with such great people has been a real pleasure.
In Calton Hill you can see some monuments called « Edinburgh's Disgraces». One of them is the national monument which has 12 columns.
I have chosen this photo because even though this monument remains unfinished, for me, it has become one of the most impressive parts of Edinburgh which is worth visiting since from this monument you can admire the city in all its splendor.

I'm sure you remember our first afternoon in Edinburgh with Colin, our guide that first day. I've chosen this picture because the most interesting thing for me was what he explained about the special urban design of the Old Town through this picture of a Fish Spine. He told us that the special topography of the Old Town (UNESCO Heritage since 1995) is known as 'crag and tail'. The explanation is that the hill was the crater of an old extinct volcano. From this 'HEAD', the 'tail' descend down to the nearby lands. On the top of the hill, the first settlement appeared: a fortified citadel easy to defend: today's CAStle of EDINBURGH. On the 'TAIL' the first urban nucleus would be slowly built: the lineal OLD TOWN. It was similar to a fish skeleton being the castle the head and the HOLYROOD PALACE and ABBEY its 'CAUDAL FIN' or TAIL. The 'MAIN SPINE', from the castle to Holyrood was the ROYAL MILE, today formed by four streets: Castlehill, Lawnmarket, High Street and Canongate. Then, the 'SMALL TRANAVERSAL SPINES' would be the so-called CLOSES: narrow backstreets or alleyways that go down the hillsides of the tail. That's why the town didn't spread in extension but in height, limited to five floors, although some buildings reached even fourteen levels! Finally, since CALTON HILL slowed down its growth to the south and NOR LOCH to the north, and since the new times of the Scottish Enlightenment (D. Hume, A. Smith...) made its expansion necessary, it was determined to dry Nor Loch (1759-1817) -today here we find PRINCES GARDENS- and to build bridges and complex groundings, creating this way the NEW TOWN on the other side.
What an amazing design! And what an amazing experience!

Learning a language is always more than words or grammar. It's living the culture and melting with its people: drink whisky, eat haggis, learn the history, the feelings and hopes of a country, meet a TRUE Scotsman in his kilt with sporran and all or be imbued with the sounds of a bagpipe. Terrific weather!!!!

I have lived a great experience in Edinburgh. It is an amazing city in which we have spent good moments. However I would like to highlight the visit to Loch Katrine. I love nature and sports so, it was a fantastic place to enjoy both of my passions. As you can see in the picture, it was so green and it was very nice riding around the lake.
