Present skill is an important skill for students. The basic structure of a presentation has 3 main parts: introduction, body and conclusion. Before presentation, the presenter should prepare slide well, don’t put too much words on slide, practice speaking at home, and choose the suitable outfit. During presentation, the presenter should make eye contact, use effective facial expressions, smile more and they shouldn’t read paper. After presentation, the presenter should be happy to answer any questions from audience, they shouldn’t come back seat immediately. And it is important that you have to make many presentations in front of a crowd that will help you gain more experience.

Couplings are popular mechanical devices used to transmit power from one shaft to another shaft. We use couplings to transmit power from driver shaft to driven shaft. And I know two main kind of them. They are rigid couplings and flexible couplings.Rigid couplings are constructed of all metal materials. They serve to align the shafts with each other. Perfect alignment reduces wear on the machine. Therefore, they maximize performance and effciency. The most common rigid coupling is called sleeve-style which consists of a cylindrical sleeve. Otherwise, flexible couplings are used for transmiting power from one shaft to another when the two shafts are slightly misaligned. Beam couplings are the type of flexible ones I know the best. They are cut in a spiral shape. These can accommodate several degrees of shaft offset. Generally, flexible couplings can help reduce noise and unwanted vibrations

There are 2 main kinds of bearings: rolling contact bearings and journal bearing. Journal bearings have no rolling parts and the shaft rotates inside a lubricated sleeve instead. Unlike journal bearings, rolling contact bearings use rollers to support loads. Rolling contact bearings consist of 4 types. Firstly, ball bearings use spherical rollers to support radial and axial motion. Secondly, straight roller bearing use cylindrical roller to support radial motion. Next, tapered roller bearing use conical roller to support radial froces and moderate thrust forces. Finaly, Thrust roller bearing use barrel-shaped rollerers to support thrust motion.

Gear is a rotating circular component of machine with teeth, which mesh with an other toothed part to transmit torque. Gear is used to transmit power and motion between machine components, it's used for transmitting torque and changing the speed, torque and direction of a power source. Gear has five types including spur gear, helical gear, bevel gear, worm gear, rack and pinion gear. Spur gear is easy to install and cheap, it is the most common and simplest gear. Spur gear is used for transmitting power and motion between machine components. Helical gear is stronger, smoother than spur gear and its teeth are cut in a spiral shape. The function of helical gear is to transmit power and motion between machine components. It can be used to reduce speed, reduce noise and vibration. Bevel gear is gears meet each other at an angle, usually 90 degree. Bevel gear is used for transmitting power and motion between machine components, it used to transmit power at angle. Worm gear is one continuous tooth, it's quiet and smooth meshing action. The function of bevel gear is to reduce speed. Rack and pinion gear is a circular gear engaging alinear gear. It used for converting rotational motion to linear motion.

Belt drive reduce noise and vibration. It don’t need to lubricate. However, chain drive require frequent lubrication and it cause noise and vibrations. Belt drive is affected by weather condition and it have low efficiency. But chain drive isn’t affected by atmospheric condition. Belt drive can slip and sretch and it require more tention. Chain drives don't have that characteristics

From my point of view, there are some differences between CAD and manual drafting. Computer-aided design is CAD, while manual drafting is hand drafting. CAD is used to quick layout of a preliminary design and necessary change. Unlike CAD, designers single detailed drafting by hand with pencil or ink on the media sush as paper or polyester film using drafting equipment. Designers using CAD need to operation skills and analytical skills. However, designers making manual drafting need to designing skills and explanation skills. CAD is different from manual drafting in term of accuracy. While CAD provides hight accuracy, drawings made by manual drafting can be easy misreading because of ambiguity and drawing errors. CAD provides easy using and flexible, but manual drafting is time consuming.

Solidworks is first released in 1997 and it is one of the most used programs in professional setting across the globe. The SolidWorks has lots of functions. Firstly, it’s used to sketch out ideas. Besides, it helps designers to experiment with features and dimensions. Moreover, the engineers can use it to produce modles and detailed drawings. Solidworks has some advantages. The first advantage is that it is easy and intuitive to use from the beginning. Secondly, It is easy to use for 3D modelling. Finally, It is quick and easy to crete parts, add them to assemblies and create drawings. However, Solidworks has some disadvantages. The first of cons that it is expensive. Next, It contain some unnecessary features for common user. In conclusion, I think solidworks is a good software, due to its functions and advantag.

There are five steps you need to follow when manufacturing a check valve. The check valve is made of cast iron. The first step is casting. In this step hot liquid of aluminum is poured into a container and then cooled to make the correct shape. The cast iron is then turned. In the stage, materials are turned on a machine called a lathe. Past of the materials is removed to make the correct shape. Next, the steel is drilled. In this step, holes are made using a drill. After the drilling process, the next step is painted. In this stage, a surface is convered with paint. Moreover, the step is bolted. In this step, pieces of materials are joined together using a nut and a bolt. The final step is inspection. In this step, a product is checked carefully. This is when we make sure that the part is made properly.

As far as I know, plastic is a synthetic material that uses polymers as a main ingredient. Nowadays, many products are made of plastic such as food containers and machine parts. Plastic is versatile, lightweight, durable and some kinds of plastic are safe. Plastic brings us a great number of benefits. The first pro is that it is convenient. For example, we can use shopping plastic bags when giong to the supermaket. Another pro is that it is lightweight. Plastic can be used in manufacturing airplane interiors and exterior. Besides, it is cost- efficient. It formed into final useful from quickly and inexpensively. Moreover, it durable and resistant to all kinds of adverse outside factors. Finally, it is reusable. However, using too much plastic every day, people may face with different problems. First of all, Plastic is hurt the enviroment. Moreover, it not be biodegradable and recycled. In the past, we couldn’t mould plastic into complex shapes. 100 years ago, manufacturers could produce modern sythentic plastics. At present, it is possible to replace components in engines with plastics. Nowadays, manufacturers can mould plastics into complex shapes. Plastics can be used in manufacturing to help designers reduce weight and aircraft.

As I know, there are 7 types of plastic with different uses and features including: PET, HDPE, PVC, LDPE, PP, PS and other Plastic. The fist one is PET. Its code is number 1. It is strong and recyclable. We use PET to make food and drink packaging. The second one is HDPE. It is hard, resistant to impact, subjected to high temperatures and recyclable. We use HDPE to make grocery bags, milk jugs, recycling bins, agricutural pipes, playground equipment, lids, and shampoo bottles. Thirdly, the properties of PVC are lightness, durability, and easiness. PVC is divided into 2 form: rigid and flexible form. In its rigid from, PVC is largely used in the building and construction industry to produce door and window profiles and pipes. In flexible form, it can be made flexible and applied to plumbing, wiring and electrical cable insulation and flooring. Finallly, PP is hard, sturdy, resistant to fatigue. We use PP to make plastic bags, six-pack rings, various containers, dispensing bottles, plastic wraps.

From my point of view, there are 3 typical problems of plastic injection moulding. They are short shot, sinkmark and void. As I know, short shot is caused of 2 reasons. Firtsly, there is not enough plastic in the shot. Secondly, the plastic pressure loss in the mould is too high. There are 3 ways to short shot these causes. The first one is that check the shots continuosly and use plastic with high melting capability. Next increase fill speed, plastic and mould temperature. Then increse gate size and runner.

Lathe is a type of machine tool, it is commonly used in the mechanical engineering industry because of its diverse machining capabilities. There are 3 types of lathes including: vertical lathe, conventional lathe, CNC lathe. People use them to create cylindrical, conical and circular surfaces of complex shapes. There are three important parts on the lathe that need to be maintained in order for the machine work properly. First, you need to check the belt drive, it wears out very quickly so it needs to be replaced every two months to ensure the movement from the engine to the other components. Second, you should check the electrical components once a month which prevents fire caused by electricity. Finally, you should check the oil level daily, the oil should be replaced every 3 months, the oil quantity is not enough, the moving parts will overheat due to friction..

This is the lathe maintenance schedule. Materials are turned on a machine called a lathe. Part of the materials is removed to make the correct shape. The guideways should be cleaned daily to avoid interruptions and control the line of motion of fluids. You need to inspect the oil level daily to ensure engine efficiency. If the oil level was low, your engine would overheat, leading to expensive repair. You should renew coolant to prevent damage, keep engine at the correct operating temperature, help it warm up quickly in cool weather and not get too when under stress. Renew oil need cleaning weekly to help the machine operate smoothly. If the engine oil changes are neglected, the internal parts of the machine will overheat and work ineffectively.
