1) The three evils are racism, economic exploitation, and militarism
2) Quote that stood out the most to me: “True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar. It understands that an edifice that produces beggars needs restructuring.” This stood out to me because it shows how the solution to problems is to stop the root cause of the issue, rather than solving issues that rise from that certain problem.
3) One of the evils Dr. King brought up was racism, and this evil is still present in our society today. This evil is still present in our society because of how the system America was built off of a system that was racist in the first place. One example would be how people of color tend to get longer sentences compared to white people for the same crime they committed.

I thought this was important because it reflects on what the future would think of that time period and gives a reality check. It makes you think about what you can do right now in order for things to become better in the long run.

3) I believe racism is still very present in our world today. We see the effects of slavery and segregation still in African American communities today. We see African Americans getting killed by police because they are perceived as a "threat." There are still white supremacists and hate crimes frequently.

1) Martin Luther King's 3 evils of society are militarism, racism, and economic exploitation.
2) In his first speech as the group's president, King declared, "We have no alternative but to protest. For many years we have shown an amazing patience. We have sometimes given our white brothers the feeling that we liked the way we were being treated. But we come here tonight to be saved from that patience that makes us patient with anything less than freedom and justice.". I choose this quote because it MLK spoke for the entire black society when he said that he did not like the ay he was being treated by white people, even though he put up with it. But MLK wants change as well as majority of the black society. is speeches motivate the nation as well as the globe to change society to become better and filled with quality.
3) I would say that racism is still present in our time but it is not as bad as it used to be. There are many Black Lives Matter protests still going on in the present advocating justice for the black society.
