Carmen goes to see her dad over the summer break.
WHAT FACTS DO YOU LEARN ABOUT CARMEN?
I learnt that Carmen's Dad had split up with her mum and started a new family. Also I found out that Carmen is half Puerto Rican. She lives with her mother. Carmen is quite shy and insecure about herself but is confident about herself inside the friend group. Carmen has a hobby for tennis and had been practicing before the summer break. I also learnt that Carmen and her dad share a special bond around each other.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE CARMEN AS A PERSON?
I would describe Carmen as noble, insecure, modest, reliable, stern, paranoid, imaginative, compassionate, friendly and kind.
WHAT VISUAL FILM FEATURES HELP YOU TO GIVE YOU THESE IMPRESSIONS?
In the movie Carmen displayed actions of being stern when Lena, Tibby and Bridget had arranged for Carmen and her friends to go to Carmen's Dad's wedding after having a fight with her Dad. Carmen didn't want to go as she thought that she hadn't fixed things with her father and she wasn't ready to reunite with her new stepmother and her children. Carmen also demonstrated actions of feeling insecure when she tried on the pants. She tells the 3 other girls that she thinks the pants wont fit her like they fitted of the other girls.
WHAT VERBAL FEATURES HELP TO GIVE YOU THESE IMPRESSIONS?
During the start of the movie Carmen describes each other the girls in their own way: "Together, it was as if we formed one single complete person. Wild, unstoppable Bridget. Shy and beautiful Lena. Tibby, the rebel. And me, Carmen, the writer."  This displays Carmen's imaginative side of herself.
WHY IS CARMEN SO UNHAPPY WHEN SHE GOES TO STAY WITH HER FATHER? (GIVE AS MANY DETAILS AS YOU CAN)
Carmen goes to her visit her dad over the summer break as Carmen's mother and Father have divorced. When Carmen and her father are driving home to go back to hr fathers house she soon realizes that they are going in the opposite direction to where Carmen's fathers house is. Her father reveals that he has moved house. When they come upon to the the driveway of her fathers new house a lady and 2 teenagers come from out the front door. Her father THEN reveals that he is engaged to this woman and the two teenagers are soon to be his stepchildren. Carmen appears to be upset and confused that her dad hadn't told her about all of the new changes in his life. That night, when they sit down to eat dinner Carmen's dad starts to say grace. She knows this isn't right because when Carmen's mother and father were together she could hardly get her father to come to church. Also when Carmen goes with her soon to be stepmother and stepsister to try on bridesmaid dresses, her stepmother and her daughter know that she is more different to how they are and she starts to talk behind her back to the employee about Carmen when she is in the changing room. Carmen then storms out and has a go at her dad's fiance. Carmen sprints out of the shop and her dads fiance follows her. She then lets Carmen be free. Carmen stays out until dark when she decides to get a taxi back to her dad's house. She sees that all of the lights are out. She goes around to the back of the house and sees the family eating dinner like nothing had happened! Carmen is appalled by this! She then walks away and thinks again by picking up a rock and throwing it at the window, cracking it. Carmen's dad and his new family are frightened when they see Carmen outside looking upset. She then goes back to her usual home to see her mum and to be with her friends.
HOW DOES SHE RESOLVE HER CONFLICT WITH HER FATHER?
Carmen resolves her conflict by telling Tibby. Tibby then sits down with Carmen and offers Carmen her phone to ring her dad and ask about why he's changed. After a while Carmen finally builds the courage to speak to her father. Her father answers and Carmen lets all of her emotions out. She speaks the truth of what she feels and how the relationship is disconnecting between them. Her father then a apologizes but Carmen explains how 'sorry' is not enough. A little while later when Carmen, Bridget and Tibby are picking Lena up from the airport on her arrival back from Greece. All 3 girls insist that Carmen and them should go to Carmen's dads wedding. Carmen quickly backs out. She doesn't want to go because she knows that the relationship between her dad and herself is still rocky. Bridget, Tibby and Lena force her to go. All 4 girls end up going to Carmen's dad's wedding. The ceremony starts and Carmen's dad sees her sitting there. He interupts the service and asks that Carmen deserves to be up here as she is family too. Carmen goes up to stand by her father and smiles at her future family. Carmen now knows that the conflict between her dad and herself is finally fixed.

Tibby stayed at home and worked at Wallmans.
WHAT FACTS DID YOU LEARN ABOUT TIBBY?
I learnt that Tibby gives a second chance to anyone, for example at  the start of the movie Tibby and Bailey weren't  really friends at the start of the movie but by the end of the movie they were very close. Tibby is quiet but not shy. Tibby is a kind person who builds strong relationships with her friends.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE TIBBY AS A PERSON?
Tibby has an interesting personality. Some times you can''t see what she is feeling , because she usually keeps it to herself.
WHAT VISUAL FILM FEATURES HELP TO GIVE YOU THESE IMPRESSIONS?
 In the movie I feel that at the start Tibby was more confident because she had all her friends with her then she met Bailey and they developed a strong friendship. But then she found out Bailey was very sick because she has Leukemia and Tibby started to become very anxious because she was worried about Bailey's sickness.
WHAT VERBAL FEATURES HELP TO GIVE YOU THESE IMPRESSIONS? 
Even if Tibby is upset she is always loyal to her friends, and is very selfless and doesn't think of herself. Quote:  "'You have us. And we're not gonna let you go anywhere, okay.''  Another quote, ''Yeah, she said that we were right all along and that the pants are magic and I don't know the details but I do know Lena and for her to say that means... that it must be true... so I was thinking that maybe you could have them for a while''.  Tibby gave Bailey the pants because she thought that they could help her and cure her illness.
HOW DOES TIBBY'S RELATIONSHIP WITH BAILEY CHANGE?

WHAT FACTS DO YOU LEARN ABOUT LENA?
I learnt that Lena has Greek heritage so that is why she went to Greece in her holiday.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE LENA AS A PERSON?
That she is shy and obedient.
WHAT VISUAL FILM FEATURES HELP TO GIVE YOU THESE IMPRESSIONS?
Lena's body is quite hunched over for majority of the movie because she is a bit insecure about herself before she meets Kostas.

WHAT FACTS DO YOU LEARN ABOUT BRIDGET?
i learnt that Bridget is good at football, her mum committed suicide, she has a love hate relationship with her dad, she is quite stubborn, she is the first born out of all the girls, she is the most popular out of the four girls.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE BRIDGET AS A PERSON?
Bridget is brave, unstoppable, sensitive, stubborn, wild, pretty, caring and courageous
WHAT VISUAL FILM FEATURES HELP TO GIVE YOU THESE IMPRESSIONS?
i saw that Bridget was unstoppable when she saw Eric and wanted to make herself look good so she would be happy again. She is sensitive as her mum died, all she wanted was to talk to her about boys and personal stuff. the camera shots showed that she is very athletic. When she goes running there is a camera shot of a close up that shows that she is not tired or puffed.
WHAT VERBAL FEATURES HELP TO GIVE YOU THESE  IMPRESSIONS?
Bridget is not very good at dealing with her problems by herself and doesn't feel confident enough in talking to her dad about it so she relies on her friends to help. A quote to prove this is: It happened just how I always imagined it would. So why do I feel this way, Lena? How can something that's supposed to make you feel so complete end up leaving you so empty? I just wish so much I could talk to my mom. I need her. And that scares me.
WHEN AND WHY DOES BRIDGET CHANGE?
Bridget changes when her mum dies. she falls in love and can't talk to her mum about her feelings which scares her. She trusts and knows that her friends will always be there for her when she needs
them.
HOW IS SHE DIFFERENT BY THE END OF THE FILM?
Bridget is different by the end of the film as she is more open and confident to herself and how she feels.
