Well, in my experience, the most crucial aspect of any song is the music itself. This isn't to say that lyrics don't matter, but for me to truly enjoy a song, the melody, rhythm, and the singer's voice need to be appealing.

On the one hand, there are songs I love where the lyrics stand out as poetic and meaningful—Joni Mitchell's songs come to mind, for instance.

On the other hand, I also enjoy pop songs with catchy beats, even if the lyrics aren't particularly profound. A good example of this is Kool & the Gang's hit "Get Down On It," a danceable funk song that repeats the phrase "Get down on it" over and over.

Ultimately, I think that both music and lyrics are really important, but if I don't like the music, I won't enjoy the song, no matter how great the lyrics are.
