This caused Arabs to lose a huge amount of land and are left primarily with 2 small areas. Over 1 million Arabs were left as refugees and were forced to move to live in refugee camps in huge squalor. June Syria and Egypt stationed troops along their Israeli borders. Israel launched missiles to defend themselves. Within 6 days Syria and Egypt surrendered. Israel seized Golan Heights, West Bank and Sinai Desert and promised to return this land if the Arabs stopped attacking. From this, OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) was established. OPEC was an organization of all the Middle Eastern countries coming together to fix oil prices. This was their way of punishing the world for supporting Israel during wars throughout the years. This impacted the economies of the west.
