A second similarity in the articles is that if we use the internet or eat junk food we get dopamine which otherwise known as called the happy chemical which makes us addicted to it."that's because of a natural chemical called dopamine. dopamine is something called "the feel good" chemical, and it lifts our mood when we experience something rewarding.". One difference in the articles is that more people use the internet than people eat junk food"85% of adults use the internet and 95% of teens use the internet". A second difference is that lots of people use the internet for there jobs or at school so it is harder to avoid that junk food.

One similarity between both internet and junk food is that they're both addicting, " The teen brain, thus, has two strikes against it when it comes to resisting junk food" ( Reichelt, pg .2) and, " 5% - 10% of interent users are addicted. 1/3 of people consider the internet as importnat as food, water, and shelter" ( infographic) As you can see, they are both very addictive, propably the same. A second similarity is, the mood change, when you eat, your mood c an change, from bad to good, or your mood just changes, with the internet, you can see certain things or you talk to people and your whole mood and personality suddenly changes. One differece between them is one is food and the other isn't, the other is the interent, apps and stuff, anothert differece is like adults do get addicted to both the intrenet and food but i feel like they get more addicted to food. (page 2, author Oosthoek) A second similarity is how it can negatively effect a teens mood by cyber bullying and eating addiction which can make you "bigger" ( page 1, Oosthoek) (bullying, Is internet bad for your health) A difference between the two is how they effect you negatively , Junk food makes you fatter and the internet makes you more restless. Another difference is on how they can harm you and the internet can make you consider suicide due to bullying, while fast food isn't by itself bullyful and instead on a physical version from others than a text version.

One similarity between the internet and junk food are, that they both can cause mood disorders. "[Junk food] may even up teens risk of depression and anxiety." (Amy Reichelt, brain and nutrition specialist at Canada's Western University in London, Ontario) The author uses a FACT to elaborates on the ways junk food can cause mood disorders. "Research has shown a potential link between pathological internet use and ADHD and depression." (Infographic) The author uses a FACT to reinforces that, like junk food, the internet can cause mood disorders. Another similarity between the internet and Junk food is that there both addicting. "It's estimated that 5%-10% of internet users are addicted, 1/3 of people consider the internet as important as food, water, and shelter." (Infographic) The author uses a STATISTIC to prove that the Internet is addicting by showing the readers how many people on the internet get addicted. "First, Adolescent brains are still developing the ability to assess risks and control action. Second, teen brains get more pleasure than adult brains do from rewarding behaviors such as eating junk foods...Together, these all can combine to make junk food hard to resist and extra bad for teen health." (Sharon Oosthoek, pg 2) The author uses a FACT to explain to the readers what makes Junk food addicting to teens and hard to resist.

With a humans health there are lots of things that make our health to unhealthy but many people think is Junk food messing with kids/teens brains well it depends who is who and what their mind state is what is happening in the article, others say yes junk food can mess with teens minds and things do change and what case is it happening and why junk food is unhealthy? the thing is junk food is not good for any types of people what they are or who they are it's different but people think why teens eat more junk food??? that's a good question my thinking is it depends on what or who but it can be scary too but not every teenager is scary. Now we have the Internet what do people about that? Most teens are addicted to the internet and they go crazy if their not on the internet but their is health is important that teens and kids need to take care of themselves to help each other but somethings don't work out well for others... this can get scary with health disorders and that's not good at all humans do need to understand what their thinking of what their doing to take good care of themselves? - Haylie Silva

The first similarity between the Infographic and the Junk Food article is that they go over how their topic affects a person's brain. "A recent study showed that in some cases several small regions in the brains of online addicts shrink by 10% to 20%" (Infographic white bubble on the right) This information is relevant because it illustrates the cause and effect relationship that the Internet and that Junk food have on a person's brain. "Americans spend at least 8 hours a day staring at a screen and average only 6 hours of sleep when 7 to 9 are recommended." (Infographic bottom left corner) "Junk food shaped adolescent brains in ways that impair their ability to think learn and remember." (Amy Reichelt, brain and nutrition specialist at Canada's Western University) This information is relevance because it explains or elaborates on how both the Internet and Junk Food is damaging to a person's health. Another Similarity is that both of these topics explain how addicting both junk food and the Internet is. In America 85% of Adults and 95% of teens use the Internet. (Infographic orange square on the left) "...teen brains get more pleasure than adult brains do from rewarding behaviors just as eating junk food." (Oosthoek pg.2) This evidence is relevant because it explains that teenagers are more likely to eat both junk food and be addicted to the Internet, based off of the statistics. A difference between the Infographic and the Junk Food article is the topic and another difference is the damage inflicted. "Is the Internet Bad for Your Health?" (Infographic title) "Junk foods can harm a teen's brain." (Junk Food article title) This information is relevant because it reveals that the main point of the Junk Food article is that Junk food is harmful for an adolescent's brain while the main point of the Infographic is how the Internet negatively affects anyone's brain and body, they don't affect our day to day life in the same way.

(white oval on the right). one difference is the facts that they use for example the internet article goes into a lot of detail but in the junk food article, they just say that junk food can hurt our brain and back it up with some quotes from people. another difference is that both articles explain a different topic affecting our health.

The similarities for Junk food and the internet are mood and addiction. First Junk food and the internet are very easy to get addicted to. "5-10% of the internet users are addicted" (Is the internet bad for you health) "Adolescents have more dopamine receptors in the brain than adults" (Junk foods can harm a teens brain p.g 2)Junk food and the Internet are also big reasons for mood change. "Researchers has shown a potential link between pathological internet use and ADHD and DEPRESSION" (Is the internet bad for your health) "It may even up a teens risk of depression and anxiety, she notes." (Junk foods can harm a teens brain, p.g 1). These are relevant because they reinforce the power of there topic with the there addicting factor and there effects of using them with mood changes like depression and anxiety. The differences with Junk food and the internet are how it affects our lives. "Americans spend at least 8 hours a day staring at a screen and average only 6 hours of sleep."( Is the internet bad for your health) "'we can't blame that on junk food in adolescence,' she says. 'But it may be a contributing factor to risk of disease'" (Junk food can harm a teens brain, p.g 3 ) These pieces of evidence are relevant because they elaborate on the damage that these differences can do in our lives being lack of sleep and diseases.
