Licensing is used by McDonald's, to create lots of value and benefits. For example, they have an license agreement with Disney. Which adds things to happy meals which could definitely add value and bring more customers. By using licensing it brings more ideas to the brand and helps them profit. Also, McDonald's is one of the biggest fast food chains so it already makes the money and fame to do it. It's always expanding and adding on to there chain. They could get more license agreements with other businesses and they could keep expanding there ideas. this could attract customers, and even make more money than they already do. McDonald's brand licenses different than most companies, it collaborates with many businesses like Disney,NFL,etc. Other companies like taco bell are more based on there ideas and rarely Collab.

There are many ways an organization like McDonald's can use licensing to create value for the brand. One example is how they have licenses for toys, clothing, and other exclusive items. Typically these items come with meals that you buy and it makes these combos seem more valuable and worth it, especially for younger people. Another example is how McDonald's will license itself with other famous companies or people. This was seen recently with McDonald's licensing themselves with Travis Scott and making him have a premium meal. A lot of people, especially teenagers love Travis Scott, and having his meal as a combo made people lose their minds when it came out. Doing licensing deals like this increases the amount of money they make by an exponential amount. All of the ways McDonald's licenses themselves with other companies and people makes their company extremely valuable, and reputable and creates more loyal customers.

McDonalds uses licensing to add value and revenue to their franchise. McDonalds is partnered up with IMG as an exclusive global licensing representative to further expand McDonalds because it grants access to more in depth expertise to help the franchise thrive. A common licensing strategy that McDonalds uses is collaborating with popular public figures. These collaborations include Travis Scott, J Balvin, Angel Reese, and Saweetie; this improves profits within the franchise because these collaborations are with very influential people who have a big impact on the youth, creating more revenue. These collaborations are just regular menu items, but when you but a popular name to the products, sales go up for that product. McDonalds also has licensing agreements for their happy meals, this adds value especially to the youth because not only do they get their food, they feel "rewarded" because they get a fun toy due to McDonalds licensing.

Madison Moore

McDonald's uses licensing very productively to create value for the brand. McDonald's works alongside IMG and The Joester Loria Group (agencies that help customers expand their marketing approaches) to create an attractive and promising licensing program. An extremely beneficial way of licensing is the collaboration of McDonald's with popular celebrities and other companies. McDonald's has somewhat recently collaborated with several famous artists such as Saweetie, Travis Scott, J Balvin, and BTS. Using widely known names like these will attract not only regular customers of McDonald's, but also fans of these popular influencers who are just interested in the presentation of the collaboration. McDonald's has also partnered with large brands such as Krispy Kreme, Disney, Target, Walmart, the NBA, etc. to create value for their products. McDonald's has worked with several of these companies to advertise their own products in their restaurants (Krispy Kreme; Disney; NBA), but they also have worked with brands by having companies like Target and Walmart promote McDonald's merchandise in their stores. Licensing is crucial for creating value in marketing because it enables the brand (McDonald's) to make itself a widely known franchise and increase the purchase of their products. In addition to benefitting the franchise itself, it also benefits the people and other brands that collaborated with them by increasing their popularity through advertisement by a fast-food franchise that everybody loves. Licensing brings many opportunities to companies and can greatly increase the value of their products.

Organizations use licensing as a technique to build a value for their own brand. McDonald's does this by partnering with major brands and famous celebrities to bring attention to new deals and offers. An agreement with Disney was a way to attract a younger audience with various toys, games and collectables. This exchange provides for a deeper connection between the customers desires and the company's product, which can correlate to a higher returning customer rate, more satisfaction, and ensures that McDonald's will stick out beyond the other fast food competitors. McDonald's also use celebrities, internationally and regionally, that appeal to almost any demographic. Including groups like BTS, that have heavy implications on the Eastern World, J Balvin in Latin America, and basketball stars LeBron James and Angel Reese help to spread McDonald's product and values that mean something to the customer. Signing other companies, such as Krispy Kreme, bring in a new demographic as well, solidifying a presence in the fast breakfast food market. These deals bring profits to both McDonalds, and the person/company that they partner with.

McDonald's utilizes franchising, another form of licensing. Allowing their brand to expand its reach and revenue. They do this by letting business owners run restaurants using McDonald's brand. They collaborate with celebrities, companies, and brands. For instance, they license characters from large brands like Disney and Pokemon to use in Happy Meals. They also license their products to grocery stores like Keurig. Along with including celebrities "meals" like Saweetie and Travis Scott to attract younger audiences. These strategies help McDonald's bring more customers. As well as add value and fame to their brand

Jackson Lamoureux

McDonald’s can use licensing to expand its brand and create value by allowing other companies to produce and sell products under its name. For example, it licenses its brand to food manufacturers to create McDonalds-themed grocery items like frozen fries and McCafe coffee sold in stores. It also partners with toy companies for Happy Meal promotions, reinforcing brand recognition among children. Licensing extends McDonald’s presence beyond its restaurants, generating additional revenue while strengthening brand loyalty. They also do collabs with different creators such as musical artists and popular video games.

Organizations like Mcdonald's use the licensing as a way to make their brand more known. They allow other companies to use their name, logo, or intellectual property. This approach generates through license fees and royalties while the company expands its name into other categories. For example, Mcdonald's collab with toys companies to make the Happy meal for the target audience like younger kids and other companies to make non-food items. They also collaborate with celebrities like Travis Scott to promote their brand to people who love Hip-Hop/Pop music. Licensing expands the brands' reputation which makes the company grow, generate additional income, create loyal customers, all this while minimizing the risk to itself.

Max Goehner

In the case of McDonald's, they use licensing in order to create value for their brand in several manners. Some of these are particularly aimed at specific groups of consumers. In the case of Happy Meals, toys are often included in order to gain more attention and traction from younger audiences. To younger customers, the value may not necessarily come from the meal as much as from the actual toy. Another instance comes in the form of cooperative branding between brands. Recently, McDonald's has become a brand name sponsor for the premier French football league. This gives them exposure overseas, and creates value for fans of the league by investing financially in it in order to obtain that name sponsor.

McDonald's uses licensing to promote itself. It pairs up with toy manufacturers and distributes toys in Happy Meals to attract preteens or parents with children to buy products from them. They also give permission for other brands to feature them, gaining a bigger circle of attracted customers. For example, an edition of Monopoly featuring McDonalds. Another strategy they use is celebrity advertisement. People have all sorts of music tastes, a genre that has been gaining popularity is K-Pop, and the top 1 K-Pop in the time was BTS, which McDonald's used to their advantage and released BTS-McDonald's bags, along with a special edition sauce, capturing the attention of K-Pop fans.
