As a child no I didn’t because I was too blinded by how much fun it looked. As I got older I imagined how unsanitary it must have been when I played. I did start randomly wondering whether they cleaned it or not. I didn’t know the extent nor did I care to because I don’t have kids and I wouldn’t be playing on them anymore. This case did open my eyes to the extent at how unsanitary it was and all the germs and toxins there. 

I believe she could have reached out to more people and got more mothers involved to really spread out awareness and her message. She did most of the work (aside from the science) herself. If she had more people working with her throughout the process it could have built a larger base and got more people interested, aware and involved. 

To cover up the situation. Let’s be honest, not all chains like that care whether or not the play area is sanitized. They care about money. If they had their employees stay later to “properly” sanitize the play area they would have to shell out more money. Because when Carr-Jordan first started out she was getting a lot of attention which was bad news for McDonalds. So to avoid her going to even more locations and exposing the uncleanliness of their play areas they banned her

If I were to be a Public Relations Executive I would find a new way to conduct business and look good to public. Basically create a new brand image for SeaWorld because right now their image is  ruined. The image I would create for Seaworld will change and advance the them. Seaworld is all about seeing the sea animals and shows. So instead of keeping them in captivity for so long provide a relief initiative. I would send out a press release stating that Seaworld will no longer keep animals in captivity for long periods of time. The only animals that will be present are injured, or saved from poachers, and once the animals are ready they will be released. It allows them to still conduct their business and gain profit, it what’s right for the animals they relate held captive there for years, it provides benefits for the animals, but more importantly it looks good to the public. 

I do think PETA can go a little overboard at times and here they never admitted any of their faults. It’s hard for me to say who I believe in more but if I look at it from a certain perceptive, then SeaWorld. They have admitted their faults, and have done a lot for Killer whales through projects and such. PETA has never. 

SeaWorld has done a lot to rectify their image but they still have a long way to go. I live in Florida and go to Orlando often  and to this day I still see protestors outside. They have a long journey before they can regain full image. Just because they do some good it doesn’t wash away the past. In question one I came up with a few ideas they could do. Also if they provided more foundations and programs that would be a great look.

A potential tactic would be to make SeaWorld think that another solution is Best for their image and profits.  Whether it’s bad or not keeping the Orcas, the show itself is very outdated. They need to free animals because it’s awful to keep them locked up and away from their natural habitat. Maybe if they replaced the orca show with creating a program that temporarily has sea animals in their care because they were injured or saved from poachers. They would be able to have different options, while actually helping the animals and then when it’s time, release them back in the water. Like a sanctuary almost. It’s not ideal but it’s better than what’s happening now. 

If I were SeaWorld CEO I would change the entire park. Obviously I would need to think what’s financially best and what’s the right move for my company’s image. Literally the perfect example is finding Dory. The park had many sea animals all there to heal, get better, and once they were they were released back into the ocean. They had ticket sales and animals of all kinds, entertainment and all while doing helpful things for the sea animals. 1. Helping them get better. 2. Releasing them once they were. 

I think animal captivity it cruel. The way SeaWorld and zoos operate should change. Instead of cages, allow it to be a sanctuary and safe/healing place for animals. To take animals out of their natural habitat and put them in cages or small pools is cruel and harmful to them. They need to the open ocean to live their full lives. In a way though aren’t we all guilty of some animal captivity? I mean people have fish, turtles, cats, dogs, snakes all locked up in our houses. When they should be free to roam too.
