Upon assessment of my client, although I feel that home personal care service is needed to come in to reduce the load of the client, she strongly holds the responsibility to upkeep the house in her own manner. Thus, I respected her decision but leave a open decision for her where she can come back to me requesting for the service whenever she feels like she need the service

There was a CL who was eating left over food at the tray return centre. He would run away and say he does no need help from anyone. As he also had some pre-existing physical and mental health conditions, I had to make the difficult decision of admitting him to IMH against his will, to better meet his needs.

I’m not in any part of social work industry but as for my current Organization, integrity is about not claiming things as yours if found around work places such as money or cash cards, but to report to supervisor accordingly and immediately even when you are sure that the rightful owner may not seek for it. As well as sticking to the regulations and organization SOP.

When I bring an inmate to High Court as he was sentenced to a capital punishment. After the sentencing there was visit by his family members. They were given 10mins before he has to be escorted off and they were not allowed to have physical contact. However, as much as I had to reprimand the family, I did it sensitively while reminding the inmate to do his part and care for his conduct. How I handled the inmate family will have an aftermath, as he will either be appreciative or aggressive

I've been working with a caregiver who supports a person with dementia living in a 5-room flat. The caregiver frequently expresses feelings of stress and frustration due to their inability to receive government assistance, as they don't meet the means testing criteria. However, it's noteworthy that despite the person's condition, they employ a domestic helper and regularly travel overseas for recreational purposes. This raises questions about the family's financial priorities and whether government support is truly necessary.

Coming from a private nursing home(NH), NH do not have direct collaboration to government resources, hence having relationships with government agency or other social services centers who are able to access the resources will be good. So if subsidised clients needs assistance, we will be able to direct them to relevant agencies to get assistance they require.

There was a case where the client was supposed to prepare documentation for her divorce, but they didn't finish the documents, and the divorce didn't process in time. The client's father came down seeking answers and started to bad mouth the client, stating that she cannot do all these processes and wants my social worker to do them. During the session with the father, we managed to talk about the client's strengths and weaknesses and his expectations of us as the client's social workers.

I have a client with disabilities, a design student who is on a term break and looking out for companies who would offer internship for her to learn new things while waiting for school to start.

As I used to work in an industry which has designer position, and I linked her up with that company to get her internship position.

Clt was a senior living alone with severe dementia and hearing loss. She had a bruise on her face due to a fall and other community partner asked if we could check on her. We did surprise HV as she did not pickup any phone calls. Upon reaching her place, despite repeated knocking/phone calls, she did not respond. She will usually not lock her gate, and we were left in dilemma whether to enter her house or not. We eventually did as we felt that we have the responsibility to ensure her safety.

Client staying in a residential home report that she was sexually assaulted from her NF when she was younger, but she has moved on. Worker assessed reported the matter to the police, but was then being scolded by the client. with the police’s involvement, her family reunification would be delayed.

A colleague of mine (A) lost their key to the centre for months but claimed that they did not like to carry it around, hence did not have it on them. A shared with another colleague (B) about it when B was going on leave and A had to open the centre on their own. I noticed that A had found their key and asked them about it, and A said yes. I then shared with B that A had found their key. B shared with me that actually A had lost their key many months ago. I shared with B that this is a serious matter as it involves company assets and also the safety of documentation. I reported it to our supervisor as A denied losing their key when I asked them about it. To ensure that the team dynamic is not affected, our supervisor brought the matter up to our manager, but wanted to give A the chance to confess. After 2 days, A revealed that they lost their key. The matter is now being handled by our company's security department, and A has apologised for the inconvenience caused. To me, A should have immediately reported the incident when they realised that their key was missing. A had broken their integrity & chose their own job security over the safety of their colleagues and clients. If not for leniency, A would have faced severe charges, up to police reports. Situations should not be snowballed, as it only causes bigger issues.
