The Pre-Operational Stage. Age 2-7

In the pre-operational stage children primarily judge the world visually opposed to factually. For example the glass that was taller and thinner appeared to have more juice in it, even though, the child just saw that the same juice came out of a glass the same size as the other and acknowledged that the glasses had the same amount of juice in them.

Even though in the concrete operational stage children show a intellect in the sense of deductive reasoning and known facts, children become more impressionable to what they are told instead of what they know. It seems as if there is an intellectual regression because they assume adults would not steer them wrong. I feel this is important information because of the fact you could see the girl was in disbelief or awe when the woman told her the feather would break the glass and without hesitation she conformed to the fact the feather was going to break the glass because the adult said so.
