I dislike goodbyes. I meet endings badly. I cannot bear to leave. Yet, I must because there is no moving on without leaving, and I know that this experience is valuable because it needs to end. I will take what I've learned with me as I kick and scream against time. This end is difficult and fulfilling, I look forward to the future, and hope that I do not forget my past.
Penzi Hill

I'm happy that I got to experience the thing that is ending, and I try to appreciate how it has changed/created the person that I am now. Of course, I'm sad that it is ending, when I instead want it to continue, but I think that it's important to try to see the positive that has come out of it as well. And as other people have mentioned, it usually means that it's the start of something new and that's very exciting.

I do not tend to think of events as 'endings' in any way. This method of thinking has made me close out certain aspects of myself in the past when I was conditioned to think this way. When I leave a place, the place stays in me forever. However, finding closure is very important to me, and releasing emotions is a large part of closure. When I say goodbye to friends, I may leave them, but their impact remains forever. I have learned to have this outlook on life to cope with perceived 'endings' or 'losses'. The moment may end, and the experience may end, but the impact is always there.

Endings and goodbyes are so bittersweet, but I think part of the beauty of life is that it is constantly evolving. But a quote that I recently have been thinking about *with some minor changes* is this: "this cosmic dance of bursting decadence and withheld permissions twists our arms collectively. But if love can win, and it can, then i'll still be here tomorrow to high five you yesterday, my friend." (it's from adventure time ;) )

Depending on the thing that is ending, I think it is important to be confident and proud of what has come before. While I'm aware that sometimes ending are sad at first or can create nostalgia, it is how we move on from these feelings and learn to accept the endings that matters.

Saying goodbye I think, is about looking back to everything a place has made you feel and realizing this might be the last time. I guess I don't mind endings as long as I get a few seconds to say goodbye. George Martin said

“I have lived a thousand lives and I’ve loved a thousand loves. I’ve walked on distant worlds and seen the end of time. Because I read.” This class was like that.
