1-2 years after my workshop, I hope my students look at mouth positions readily and easily in order to identify sound differences and sound production. Perhaps they will also be able to offer up new observations contrasting culture to culture by observing body language. I hope it become a fun and productive mode of connection between people.

After my course, I hope that my students remember it as a course that stands out from the others. As a course that exists to help students succeed in college, my hope is that aspects of the course stick with the students as they navigate all of the challenges that college brings. For example, it is powerful for me to think about students utilizing mental health resources on campus if they realize that a teammate is struggling with a personal issue. Another example of a way that my course may stick with students who take my course is when they act as a role model to younger teammates. As questions arise among teams, the students that take my course will be able to serve others, as a result!

I would like the students in my course to walk away from the class with a basic sense of comfort using a computer. One to two years after they have completed the course I'd like them to be able to use computers as resources to help them in their everyday lives - perhaps they will use them at a job, or to write a paper or create a presentation for a college class. They might also use them to look up directions for how to get somewhere or how to cook a new dish. Not all of these things are covered in the class of course, but my hope is that students will have developed the skills to understand how to learn with a computer and that they will be able to use computers to continue learning whatever it is they desire.
