Me and my friends went to restaurant to have dinner together after the movie night at school, and the main dish was tteokboki. We could chose the ingredients we want to put in and we made ourselves the tteokboki, and that was how it works. We also ate some fries with tteokboki and our favorite among them was shrimp fried balls. It was actually hard to find the perfect flavor, but then it just automatically became so good as the water disappears and all the spicy souces absorbs into the food. The taste of tteokboki was flarversome and fiery, and the fries were crispy and savory. There was a korean dessert called 'gogguma mattang', which is the sweet potato with the sugar glazed on it, obviously it was too much treacly but I still liked it though.

Our family went out to have a dinner, and we decided to eat meat. We normally eat just regular beef or pork barbeque but this time we wanted to try something new, and that was that in the photo. I forgot the name but it had a special name in English, I got really hooked on the first look of it because of the decoration. Then I finally tasted it, and it tasted very smokey, fiery and full-bodied. It was more like steak than barbeque when I tried it, and I really liked it. It was a lot better when I eat it with cutted pieces of bell peppers and it helped me not to feel much oily and heavy. It looks like it would be salty because of all the peppers and salt on the meat but it wasn't as much salty as it looks. I liked to dip a piece of meat into salt and eat.

Me and my friends hung out and went to the restaurant that was near to our places (we live in the same apartment or apartment next to each other), We normally just eat cream past as always at this restaurant but then I wanted to try another dish because I was actually got sick of it. I orderd chicken burger and it was really good, like really good. I don't think there was a much special thing in this burger but you know, simple is the best. It was kinda spicy as there was some chilli sauce in it. The chicken tender was crispy, and the bread was somehow chewy, I really liked the texture of them. I remember the texture but I don't really rememeber the flavor, I just can remember that it was really good and perfect but exacpt for the fact that it was insanly expensive.

I and violet played volleyball together at night, and we had a small snack and chit-chat time. Violet said she wants to buy that red thingy and she bought it even though that was really expensive. Her expression after trying the red one was.. really fun. She didn't even say if it's good or what and she kept laughing and saying I should try it too, so I tried it. It tasted like, really insteresting, but in a bad way. I don't even know how to explain the taste, it tasted really sour and little bit spicy at the same time. it was weird. I just clearly could understand why she was only laughing after tasting it. I just washed my mouth and clean all the taste off of my mouth right away with Fanta drink. It felt like I moved to heaven from the hell. Obviously, Fanta was sparkling and cool and made me feel very fresh. I really thank god to myself that I bought fanta else I already died from the taste of that red spicy sauce.

Food Interview with Mr. Youngjoo: April 19, 2024

I interview Mr. Youngjoo and we had a short discussion about our unit, food with him. The reason I decided to interview Mr. youngjoo is because he's my korean teacher and I thought I could be comfortable if it's him while interviewing.

First off, I asked him to shortly introduce himself to the listeners and then we start to have a proper conversation. My first question was about his family and the place he grew up, which is about the environment he had lived since he was young. He said he has his mom and dad and one younger brother and himself in the family and his mom is a korean teacher and his brother is currrently working as a public service worker and Mr. Youngjoo is living in Vietnam with his dad. He was born in seoul but he moved to beijing, china when he was 11 and he even graduated middle school there. After that, he went to canada to study abroad and again he came back to korea to graduate high school and then entried university. His favorite food when he was young was pizza and he said his family often ate soup, rice, fried eggs for breakfast and simple ones like instant noodles as for lunch, and ate some special meal like meat for dinner when he was a child. He chose Choco-pie from lotte he ate when he was young for the food that he want to get from a childhood that he can't get now. He still can get it now but he can't get the feeling no longer he felt when he was a child. Compaered the people's diet in the old days and now, he said people's diet really diversified a lot in terms of culture.

I could learn about his childhood background and memories related to food. It felt kinda new to me as a person who is still a young student and who now in the generation that can get the food he mentioned easily, like I don't really feel special about pizza or choco pie. It was actually awkard and embrassing that I had to speak in English with him because I've never spoke with him in English before ever but it was a great experience and all the story was interesting. I haven't also really thought about the diversifying of food due to the culture over time and I thought that was very interesting when he talked about that.

Devate on Motion: Breakfast is the most important meal (May 3rd)

The motion of this devate is "Breakfast is the most important meal" and I don't agree with that because of these reasons following.

Firstly, cccording to SBS Austrailia, you won't metabolise better when you eat breakfast and still be hungry after, which means that not eating breakfast reduces the cravings. If you don't eat your breakfast, you automatically get to pratice intermittent fasting. Intermittnet fasting is one of a variety of mealtime schedules that cycle between voluntary fasting and non-fasting over a period of time. Studies from Pubmed have shown that it helps to improve your brain function such as focus, and lose weight or maintain the healthy weight and encourage natural anti-aging process called autography which helps with detoxification cellular renewal. Also, I personally experienced a lot of times of feeling oily inside and stomachache when I ate the breakfast and that's how became avoiding eating breakfast.

In conlcusion, I think that eating breakfast isn't really the important meal and okay to be skipped if you want to. There obviously will be reasons why breakfast is the most important meal but I don't think they worth too much to be keeped for the must.

Should mukbang content creators/binge-eating content creators be banned: May 21, 2024

The motion I will be discussing about is "Should mukbang content creators/binge-eating content creators be banned", and I think they should not be banned because of these following reasons.

Firstly, every content creator and content has a right to be respected unless they are not inappropriate. If you don't want to watch their videos, then just don't watch them and you can block the channel. There is no way you can disrespect others because you can't judge others by only your perspectives and thoughts. It's not even a inappropriate or content that is bad for children to watch, so I think it should not be banned for sure. Those are the reasons why disagree banning mukbang content creators.

Me and my friends hung out together this day, and we ate malatang in the photo for the lunch. Malatang is like a soup that has various of ingredients and is very fiery. You can choose what to put in it, there is different types of noodles and rice cakes, and vegetables and stuff for the general, and you also can choose the spicyness level. There is level 0 to 5, which is the not spiciest to spiciest. The level 0 is white broth with no any spicyness. We chose level 2 and it wasn't neither too spicy or not that we could enjoy the spicyness while eating. It overall tastes savory, spicy, and tart becasue of the spice called 'mayu'. Most of ingredients we chose were very chewy, but the texture of black mushroom was something else. It felt slippery in my mouth and was also crunchy, I liked it.

Top 5 best dishes from my culture: May 27, 2024

The topic of the discussion here is Top 5 best dishes from my culture, I'm going to be inctroducing you Top 5 dishes I think is the best from my country, which is korea.

1. kimchi 2. tteokbokki 3. Samgyeopsal 4. kimbap 5. Ramyeon

The chosen Top 5 dish is Ramyeon. I chose ramyeon because even though it's just a simple instant noodles, it's koreans all time favorite soul food and I personally think Korean ramyeon is the best instant noodles in the whole world. When you say Ramyeon in korea, you normally think of the noodles with red broth, koreans think Ramyeon with red broth is the default. As it's instant noodles, you just have to pour the water and the soup base and wait, which is very easy. People in korean consumes a lot of Ramyeons because they feel lazy to cook and there is a choice that you can eat such a nice meal with a simple preparation. We eat Ramyeon with Kimchi as always because it feels like it even more completed with kimchi. We sometimes make the little plate by folding the cap of the Ramyeon, I think all koreans would know the how to fold it.

Top 4 is Kimbap. I personally don't really like kimbap that much but I chose it as top 4 because it is one of the most food that to be think of when you ask what is the most unique and traditional food of your country. I think Kimbap is really unique because I've never seen any food that is covered up with the dried seewed and I'm still curious how did they come up with this idea. You need rice, dried seewed, vegetables like carrots or cucumber, eggs, ham, and finally the yellow picked radish called Danmuji. You can add whatever you like to put in but these are the basic ingredients you put into kimbap. For the first, you put the dried seewed as the width is longer than the height. Then, put the rice on it very flat and then carrots or cucumber, eggs, ham, and danmuji. You now roll it and cut them into small pieces. It's the traditional food from a long time ago that still continued to today, and it's the most popular dish for the picnic or field trip. When I went to school trip in korea, all classmates brought the kimbap including me. Like that, kimbap still consumes a lot by the people. There is restaurants that has Kimbop as a dish, and they also sell it at the conveinience store. You can eat it with kimchi if you feel a little bit if you feel not enough, but it's just a optional.

The third one is Samgyeopsal. It's actually just a korean bbq pork but it has some difference between the porks from other countries. First, you don't use the fire to cook it, and use the heated charcoal instead. So you put the heated charcoal under the grill and the pork will be cooked by the heats from the charcoal, you could think that it will take a long time, but it actually doesn't and the time is same as it takes for fire. You just put on the grill and cook it and cut it with the scissors, which can be very new if your country normally uses knife than the scissors. There are a lot of restaurants that sells Samgyeopsal and it is the main go-to dish for company dinner and you might see some old mans eating samgyeosal with soju or a beer. You might get sick of this, but you also heat kimchi on the corner of the grill and eat it with pork once it's done stir-fryed.

The secondp place is tteokboki. This is a rice cakes with spicy sauces, and is very popular espcieally for the teenagers and young people. To make this, you first put rice cakes in the boiling water, and wait until it makes big bubbles. Once it boils with big bubbles, put the sauce into it and you are done if you see no much water and it all have absorbed or disappered.
