1. The most common causes of water pollution are human activities, such as littering and dumping of waste, oil spills and deforestation.
2. Polluted water bodies can be unsightly and may give off foul-smelling gases. Some forms of water pollution such as oil spills can harm or even kill plants and animals. Oil spills cause a layer of oil to form on the sea surface so that plants cannot trap sunlight to make food. animals are also not able to breathe in the polluted water. Furthermore, when water is polluted, it is no longer safe to use. This means than humans will have less usable water. Lastly, polluted water needs to be treated before it can be used. Treatment of water requires time and money.

1) Some causes of water pollution are mostly caused by human activities, such as littering, ship leakages, deforestation, chemical fertilizers, fossil fuels, air pollution, farm pollution, use of face washes with biodegrades (the biodegrades will get washed down and will be consumed by the fishes. Can you imagine eating a salmon with it's gut full of biodegrades?), urbanisation and damming or rivers
2) Sea creatures and water plants will contract illnesses from the germs, and if these irresponsible actions continue to go on, they will become extinct. This will also affect our health as we go on to consume the fishes. It will be very bad for the economy.

What is water pollution?
Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies, usually as a result of human activities.Water bodies include for example lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifer and groundwater.Water pollution results when contaminants are introduced into the natural environment.
_______________________________
Various sources of water pollution.
There are various classifications of water pollution. The two chief sources of water pollution can be seen as Point and Non-point.

Point refers to pollutants that belong to a single source.

Non-point , on the other hand , means pollutants emitted from multiple sources.

Various causes of water pollution.
1.Industrial waste.
2.Sewage and wastewater.
3.Mining activities
4.Marine dumping.
5.Accidental oil leakage.
6.The burning of fossil fuels.
7.Chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
8.Leakage from sewer lines.
9.Global warming.
10.Radioactive waste.
11.Urban development.
12.Leakage from the landfills.
13.Animal waste.
14.Underground storage leakage.
_______________________________
What is water pollution effects?
The main problem caused by water pollution is that it kills organisms that depend on these water bodies.Dead fish, crabs, birds and sea gulls, dolphins and many other animals often wind up on beaches, killed by pollutants in their habitat.Pollution disrupts the natural food chain as well.
_______________________________
Why is water pollution a problem?
Water covers over 70% of the Earth's surface and is a very important resource for people and the environment.Water pollution affects drinking water, rivers, lakes and ocean all over the world. This consequently harms human health and the natural environment.
_______________________________
How could we stop water pollution?
Do not throw paints ,oils or other forms of litter down the drain.Use environmentally household products ,such as washing powders, household agents and toiletries. Take great care not to overuse pesticides and fertilizers. This will prevent runoffs off the materials into nearby water sources.
_______________________________
How do we control pollution?
1.Reduce he number of trips you take in your car.
2.Reduce or eliminate fireplace and wood stove use.
3.Avoid burning leaves, trash and other materials.
4.Avoid using gas-powered lawn and garden equipment.
_______________________________
Bonus Fact!!!
How polluted is the world?
Each year 1.2 trillion gallons of untreated sewage, stormwater, and industrial waste are dumped into US water. While children make up 10% of the world's population, over 40% of the global burden of disease falls on them. More than 3 million children under age five(5) die annually from environmental factors.

_______________________________
This is the end of my research!

1.Water is uniquely vulnerable to pollution. Known as a “universal solvent,” water is able to dissolve more substances than any other liquid on earth. It’s the reason we have Kool-Aid and brilliant blue waterfalls. It’s also why water is so easily polluted. Toxic substances from farms, towns, and factories readily dissolve into and mix with it, causing water pollution and the disappearance of biodiversity and the aquatic ecosystem.
2. In order to thrive, healthy ecosystems rely on a complex web of animals, plants, bacteria, and fungi—all of which interact, directly or indirectly, with each other. Harm to any of these organisms can create a chain effect, imperiling entire aquatic environments.
When water pollution causes an algal bloom in a lake or marine environment, the proliferation of newly introduced nutrients stimulates plant and algae growth, which in turn reduces oxygen levels in the water. This dearth of oxygen, known as eutrophication, suffocates plants and animals and can create “dead zones,” where waters are essentially devoid of life. In certain cases, these harmful algal blooms can also produce neurotoxins that affect wildlife, from whales to sea turtles. Contaminated water can also make you ill. Every year, unsafe water sickens about 1 billion people.
