The top three functions of the family that are the most important to me would be family responsibilities, social control and nurturance and love. These three are important to me because children have necessities, need to be taught what the appropriate way to act is and need to be shown that they matter.

The top 3 functions of the family to me are:
1. Nurturance and Love- we need a sense of belonging to have motivation and to go out in the world! Unconditional love means we will take risks.
2. Economic function: we need jobs, and we need money to take care of our families. Historically, families survived without money but in 2018, you would have to live in a remote place for this to work!
3. physical care: we need our family to take care of us when we are sick, and we need the essentials. As we get older, the responsiblity will fall more on ourselves.

My top 3 function of the family to me:
1. Social control - Kids need to learn their manners and what is right or wrong.
2. Socialization of children - Kids need to be able to understand society and be able to take on the world (by themselves).
3. Physical maintenance/care - Everyone should have a roof over their head and food on the plate. However, if the family can only afford little amount of different things, that's okay because they're still trying.

I would say that love and nurturance would be the most important function of family for me personally, followed by the physical maintenance and then socialization of family members. Feeling accepted and cared for regardless of your financial or social standing is necessary for strong family relationships, but needs being met and children being taught morals is also very important.

Production, consumption, and distribution of goods and services (economic) - this is how physical maintenance can be done. Without a solid income, it would be harder to get by.
