This genre of music was very popular at parties. It was mainly preformed in New York and Chicago and could be heard on radio stations and phonograph records. Although Jazz became a huge hit by the younger population, it was despised of by the elders. They believed the music was vulgar and inappropriate.&nbsp; King Oliver, Louis Armstrong, Kid Ory, and Duke Ellington where some of the most popular Jazz musicians. </div>]]></description>

On Thursday October 24th the Black Thursday crash occurred. The following Tuesday, also referred to as Black Tuesday crash, had caused the market to fall 23%. The Stock Market Crash of 1929 cost investors $30 billion dollars, which is equivalent to $396 billion dollars today.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;On January 20, 1920, the 18th amendment went into effect which stated the prohibition of alcohol. Later that year, the 19th amendment went into effect which gave Women the right to vote. As the 20s started out with great change, worse laws were put into place such as the Immigration Act of 1924. This Act limited the number of immigrants allowed entry into the United States.&nbsp;<br>As seen in the photo, a Women stands in a parade holding a sign that says "Help us to win the vote."&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
