Jazz Music was newly introduced in the 1920s. This genre of music was very popular at parties. It was mainly preformed in New York and Chicago and could be heard on radio stations and phonograph records. Although Jazz became a huge hit by the younger population, it was despised of by the elders. Family life changed in the 1920's due to an upheaval of cultural change. Families became more companion based and parents started having less kids. These changes led to legalization of birth control, sex education, and the permission of divorce.

Later that year, the 19th amendment went into effect which gave Women the right to vote. As the 20s started out with great change, worse laws were put into place such as the Immigration Act of 1924. This Act limited the number of immigrants allowed entry into the United States.
