Good day! I'm Jerry and I was one of the staff that were deployed to Guinsaugon Landslide tragedy in Saint Bernard. Since then, I became part of our Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Program and have been involved in major disasters in our country. It is great to come across to international standards like Sphere and CHS so that I can be more knowledgeable on how to best serve people affected by different crises and at the same time continually improve the work that I do in humanitarian action.

During typhoons here in Laguna we encountered flooding that resulted to some families in the communities to be displayed and mostly stayed in evacuation center. We do relief operation, psychosocial activities and feeding program. It is a great opportunity for me to learn the best practices of CHS to be able to give what is right and desirable intervention for those people affected by different calamities. Marissa po from the Residential Program of Hope worldwide Philippines. We provide temporary shelter for children victim/survivor of abuse. As worker that provides intervention to the needs of the children in their problem.Abuse itself is a crisis, and we also have the standard in our service delivery. Our shelter is prone to flooding that sometimes we need to transfer the children to much safer place.

The training will also enable us to understand more the importance of CHS in our work, from the creation of policies, program objectives, activities, etc. that we are going to implement.
