11 year old girl is in 5th grade shes from California

She has down syndrome and autism which has her take longer to learn new things.

Her hobbies, she loves all sports in special olympics like basketball, Volleyball, Bocce, and track, etc.

She is a very kind, sweet girl and hopes to be the best in the world.

Student Goals

She is a very smart girl that wants to succeed on everything and if she does she is very hard on herself and that is her autism and downsyndrum taking over

she just gets upset really easily.

Her goals are to try and get valdictorian but she thinks she cant because of her disabilities taking over.

She wants to try and go to college and play sports in college.

Motivations for goals

She will have a person that she feels comfortable with to be one on one with her.

She will get the proper care she needs to understand everything and how hard it will be but got to keep going.

She is a very smart girl which means she can be with the rest of the class most of the day, so we will motivate her with encouraging her.

For validictorian she will have all the encouragement and anything to get her through she just has to believe in herself.

She wants to go to college and play sports in college so we will give her all the motivation we can to get all the practice in before going.

Teaching Methods

Her struggle is in math but excels in everything else. So their main goal will be to help her with fun activities like math games and do anything to help her succeed with math.

The teachers goal will be to help with other subjects as well of course but more one on one with math to help her understand the math she struggles with.

Sitting her close to the teacher in the room is important so she is not getting distracted by other students.

Group activities so people will get to know her disabilities so shes not ashamed.

There will be a para that comes in to pull her out one on one to see how she is doing in the middle of the day.

Assessment Methods

She will be placed in a separate room from distractions with a person to help her walk through each question she struggles on.

Since she struggles in math. She will be able to sit where ever she feels focused at.

If a student gets done and she feels comfortable with it she can have one of her buddies sit with her to help talk through but of course a teacher near by.

She excels in reading, social studies, language arts, and has so much fun on specials. So she will be able to be with the whole class and participate with them on that.

Creativity

She really loves things are decorated or colorful because it makes it more fun to do and gives her motivation to do it.

It makes her happy.

We will try an give her everything we can that is colored so she has the motivation to do it.

We will give her art projects along with the class so she has more fun doing it.

Connections

We will do everything and anything to do group work.

Get to know other kids so she feels like shes included no matter what.

we know that she struggles with being patient so this will help her with patience if it is another person talking or turn to do something if they are taking turns.

She will also have time with one on one time with a teacher

She will get everything walked through for her

We will have activities such as easy little things to help get her work done.

Give maybe a little something to her that she likes so she can concentrate better.
