Abraham Maslow developed this theory first in his 1943 paper "A Theory of Human Motivation". It outlined the way that every human being is motivated to fulfill a set of basic needs rather than fixating on more advanced needs. However, I feel that in the workplace, managers are responsible for allowing their employees to obtain their needs. If this is not the case, then they do not value their employees' health and general well-being in the workplace. For example, making your employees work longer periods of time can be detrimental to the employee.
