First check if your question or problem has already been posted. If you see that it has, look in the comments (below the post) to see if the issue has been solved - maybe you can find an answer there.
If the problem has not been solved, then add your own comment under the post e.g. My teachers can't access........... either. 2 teachers (names) tried, the last one was at 12.30 today.
If there is no post that relates to your issue, please create a post by clicking on the red circle in the bottom right hand corner. You can add a screenshot or a link.
When you add your post please add as much information as possible - be specific about where the problem is, who can't access and when the person tried NB: the time the problem occurred can be relevant if that part of the Moodle was under construction at that time.

Della has spotted a problem with this template. The materials that have been uploaded are Proficiency Masterclass not Proficiency Expert. The link here is for the correct book, so most of the Proficiency Expert materials can be found there (click on the picture on the Moodle template and log in to the webpage), but we will need to rework the whole template to ensure all the correct materials are in the units on the template.

CJ Classes using Compact First

It seems that the CJ Teacher’s Guide for Compact First needs updating as the content does no longer match the book we’re using. For instance, there is a section on dependant prepositions in Unit 3 in the Guide now which does not correspond to what's in the book (Pointed out by T in Gros).

Hi! here in BB We have a KA group using Advanced Trainer but the audios on the moodle they have access to are for one of the Cambridge Test books. I've checked 2 students in the group just to be sure. Please could it be updated to give students access to the audios from Advanced Trainer? Thank you! Crumb trail from attendance back to course page

When on attendance, the only way to get back to the course and add workdone is bu going to 1. Groups -> 2. Courses -> workdone through different pages. This can be confusing for non-Moodle users. Why not add a link to the course page in attendance to minimise the number of pages teachers have to go through?

Students links to their course via extranet

Just checked my group and it shows on the new Moodle! I was playing around a bit with it when I noticed that if I go to any of my students’ extranet from the link on the attendance tab, they are redirected to the wrong material/course and not grade 3CC which is what they’re currently enrolled in. I wanted to show my students the link to the moodle from their extranet so they know where to look for things, but won’t do it yet, and wait until fixed. Has anybody else checked whether your students can actually see their current course from their extranet?

Colour coding

Colour coding to make things easier for all -

PINK means in process, so the troubleshooters(TS) will continue to check these. DOSs - if it is your problem, keep checking back. ANIA/ALLY/CERI
GREEN means that we now know what the problem is - if it is green it means that there is something that needs to be done - probably something to do with individual templates. The person responsible for the template makes the changes or Ceri will be responsible if it is to do with talking to publishers or creating materials- LUKE/ANIA/CERI
BLUE - there's a technical issue with PILOTs - JOSE
YELLOW - These issues have been resolved, but will be left on the board for other DOSs to read, so that they don't repeat a problem that has already been resolved.
WHITE - it hasn't been read yet. Once the troubleshooter reads it then they change the colour accordingly - it will usually start as pink and then once the TS understands the problem they will decide who should deal with it and change the colour accordingly.
PURPLE - general messages from Moodle Team

I was just wondering if there is ( and I simply can't find it) or if there will be a place to put in assessment scores we do throught the term for UOE/Readings etc...My pilot class is a CJ group and it would be great to have somewhere to record their scores. About inputting notas

When inputting notas, it has got the drop-down menu to choose the grade in each box. However, I find it quite inconvenient. I need to use a mouse to select the box and click my choice. And I cannot use the 'tab' key (the arrows button next to 'Q') on the keyboard to go to the next box (or cell). In the old moodle - notas - I can just go through the boxes quickly by typing the grade and using the 'tab' key... I find it quite inefficient in the new one. Now I have got one group so it is alright. but it will be very time-consuming to do it by selecting the correct grade for each student in each box for several groups.

Hello, no problem. I have to dig a bit deeper then because as you can see it works fine in my course. What you can do for now is: Turn editing on - edit (next to the login/password) - hide. When you do it, please let us know if it works. Thanks!

Please find Luke´s response below (Compact First):
If teachers go to the Cambridge Site and use Presentation Plus with Compact First, they shouldn´t have any problem with the WB audio as far as I can see.

They can access the WB audio 2 different ways (see attachment):

1. Clicking on the audio icon next to the question.

2. Using QR codes. The pages that have listening tasks include QR codes that take you to open access listening files. Students should be able to use these QR codes at home by scanning the codes from the relevant page in the WB.

As to other books, we need more time to upload WB audio (it wasn't available on the old moodle) and once it´s done, it won´t automatically be visible to students this year because it´ll be added to the master template, not the individual class templates.

I've just been looking at how to send an SMS to parents from the new Moodle. I can't find the SMS option for informing parents of a lack of homework or requesting a meeting. Could you let me know where this option is. I was looking on attendance and communication.

Monitoring - parents' telephone and name

I've been comparing the function of monitoring. In the old moodle, when I want to check student's parents' telephone number to make a call, I can go to 'monitoring' of this student, and I can ring the parent with the shown phone number and I can see the parent's (or tutor's) name. In this way, I do not need to bother the receptionist to check them out for me. However, the parents' telephone number and name are not shown in the new moodle.

Dear All, One of my teachers says she can see parents' meetings for today in her Moodle and she thought they were hers. The page shows the building so they are clearly not hers. However, it would be better if parents' meetings only were visible to the teacher who has them to prevent confusion as even if it was the building where the teacher works, they would not be able to see the student (just the numID) and they would have to look it up. Is it possible to upload more than one file on work done? If so, how? A teacher has told me she's only able to upload one., and when she was working in another building (SAn Bartolomé) she wasn't able to upload anything at all.

Go Getter 3 & 4 Online SB : Robert´s Workaround

If anyone has difficulties accessing the Go Getter SB online, try logging in to the materials in the usual way (https://english-dashboard.pearson.com/ > eText Bookshelf > Go Getter 3 or Go Getter 4 ) . If you get an error message at this point, go to the top right hand corner of the page and click on the blue circle with a white S in it. Log out and then log back in. Many thanks to Robert for passing on this workaround.

Not having access to standby groups on new moodle causing problems

One of my team tried to put in student monitoring in the old system but a notice came up saying that she should go to the new one. When I went in for her and input the monitoring, it didn't stay there. In fact I got sent an email about some monitoring I put in yesterday. This happend twice. very strange! How should they be putting in student monitoring? We did it via the click down menu next to the name and then clicked on "add". Previous student monitorings were there from last year.

I have a similar problem as Susan. After I wrote all the details and pressed 'Save'., it does not show what I wrote. It seems it did not save at all. Secondly, in the old moodle there is a big list of the student monitoring that I wrote for every student - I really like this function because I can see whose parents I have talked to in a summary ... Do we have it in the new moodle? Starry

This was brought up in the Dos meeting yesterday but just to add here. Could it be made obvious whether attendance has been done or not? Teachers suggested the dates on the attendence page turn green or bold to indicate that it's been done. In the old register/work done the icon changed from red to green. Thank you.

Link to Pearson site in Moodle - not working

My teachers and I keep getting - You don't have access right now' screens when we click on Pearson books in the Moodle. I found a way around it and it seems to work for us:

Google search - Pearson etext bookshelf
Click on ‘Sign in - Pearson eText (usually the first or second link)
Sign in using the usual codes

Hello,
Caroline here. Can teachers record writing marks on the moodle if they haven't set the assignment on the moodle? Thanks!
I've had a quick look around and cant see a video about this (please tell me if I've missed it!)

Hi, This is Treasa. Can the end of course (predictive test FCE) listening be put on the new moodle? Starry found it on the old moodle but we can't find it on the new moodle. Thanks.

Pearson Website Issues

If you are having problems accessing the GoGetters or Today books on the Pearson website try this work around:

Try this link + same access details *https://etext-ise.pearson.com/bookshelf

This is an ongoing issue - If this is something that is only happening on one computer then the Publisher says to call tech support directly (as they need to know the particular circumstances of that PC etc). I know this is not ideal and no one has time for this, but here is the info:

If you don´t have time for this ( Which I don´t imagine anyone does) try clearing the Cache, closing other windows on the browser, try the link above*and advice or as a last resort contact Jose with details of the problem. We are looking into this, it may mean that certain laptops may need to be replaced.

We have been told that this is not a problem with the Pearson website, but with our laptops/PCs.

I wonder if it is a good idea to add a column on this padlet, namely - teaching material issues. Now all problems are mixed (e.g. missing teaching material, new moodle issues...). I guess it can be more specific if one column only focus on this so iit will be separated from the technical moodle problems - possibly easier for readers too. Thanks.

Formula C1 missing listening tracks for Exam Trainer book

Hi Starry here,
I noticed that there are no listening tracks for Formula C1 exam trainer book on new moodle. Although I know how to download the listening tracks from the Pearson website, I guess it will be convenient for students to have access to the exam trainer book - listening tracks on moodle so as to do some listening homework.
