Temple Grandin was diagnosed with autism in 1947. Back then, the diagnosis was new and very little was known about it. Despite Doctors telling her mother she would never speak, she went on the earn a doctorate and change the face of the cattle industry. This book discusses all the different ways Autism presents itself and what some of the causes might be. 

The goal of this book is to highlight her successes while also showing that even though it is seen as a disability, autism can also be a strength. 

Her story is also a movie which I highly recommend watching to get a glimpse into the amazing mind of people who have autism.

This fiction book looks at what life is like when you have a sibling who has autism. Despite Clara having her own issues to work through, she learns more about love and trust from her younger brother than she could learn from anyone else. A trip to Paris to get away from the pressures of the world is exactly what Clara needed.

Both characters in this book struggle with finding their place in the world and rely on each other to bring out the good in themselves.

Society doesn't always know how to respond to people with autism. The symptoms of autism can often be misinterpreted as rude, obtuse, or emotionless. In reality, people who have autism just have a different way of thinking and viewing the world. 

In this book, Jacob Hunt witnesses a murder but he goes from a witness to the number one suspect. Since he has Asperger's Syndrome his lack of social cues and lack of expression make people think he committed the murder. This book sheds light on the intolerance and pain that goes along with having a child who has autism.

This book is written for high school students who have been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. It addresses topics such as making friends, dealing with stress, and becoming more independent. 

This would also be a great read for someone not on the spectrum but has friends who are autistic. Women are far less likely to be diagnosed with autism then men. For many women, their symptoms are overlooked and they don't get the help and support they need to succeed. 

This Graphic Novel gives a visual representation of how real women overcome their obstacles and thrive in this world. The author uses real stories of friendship and relationships to show the readers how women who are autistic cope and manage in daily life.
