£5 note contains animal fat. It contains a trace of tallow, which is a substance made from fat and is used also in candles and soaps. These £5 notes with tallow are the first not to be printed on paper and these are designed to be cleaner, more secure and stronger. However, just because they contain a trace of tallow, mostly vegans were shocked and disgusted.
