I think the R.J Palacio wrote Wonder to make the problem of bullying known. She centers Auggies difference as the main problem. She made sure that we as the reader knows about how Auggie feels about the bullying known since its happening alot. She also makes it feel like we are Auggie since she writes it in Auggies point of view, which we realize that the bullying happens so often. She also shows how it effects him family, she shows how his sister, mom, and dad feel about it. When Via remembers her time with her Gran I think that it shows us how Via copes with her brothers difference, I think that she would vent to her Gran when her parents would be with Auggie, but when her Gran dies she has to keep all her emotions in when Auggie has surgeries, or is with her parents. I think that this is really sad because Via had to keep her thoughts in because she thinks it will stress her parents out.
