These help in managing HFMD. </div><div><br></div><div>The kids today are not aware of the impact of their actions. We assume that kids would have learnt and parents would have taught, but this is not true. </div><div><br></div><div>After PE, use a towel to wipe off their sweat. </div><div><br></div><div>Etiquette in a CO-Ed setting needs to be taught; how to interact with the other sex. </div><div><br></div><div>Sometimes they leave the tissue on the table. </div><div><br></div><div>It takes time set aside to develop habits. We may have not cos we assume these behaviours will be picked up along the way as the child grows.          <description><![CDATA[<div>It is normally assumed that the students know all these but that’s for the majority. There are a small minority who are unaware of certain social Norms/ personal hygiene habits. <br><br>Adults are sometimes also unaware of certain conversational techniques in social interactions.(how to deal with disparaging remarks in conversations etc)<br><br>For Teachers to role model to the students behaviours and manners.<br><br>Teachable moments. When something happens, teach it and ask the students involved to reflect. <br><br>In the past, it is the Teachers who are teaching these matters due to parental social status etc. Also, the students back then in the schools may be orphans and children on the streets who have no one to teach these things to them. <br><br>Nowadays, it is more of reinforcement and reminders to children to behave and act appropriately rather than imparting these manners for the first time. <br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Group 19 - Lasallian Educators found here</strong><br>1) Overlapped with some decorums found in conduct of schools,<br>2)  when talking to people don’t fold your arms - students folding arms = defensive of their stand/position, sitting students down to calm the students and put students at ease, <br>3) spitting out of mischief - instead of being unclad, students do it out of mischief,<br>4) students  are not properly groomed (not brushing teeth’s, comb hair, taking a morning shower), students can be taught to personal grooming,<br>5) primary students do feedback to teachers that their parents don’t teach/role mode personal grooming with them at home,<br>6) challenges - students do not know basic life skills - cleaning after himself/herself, tying school laces, buttoning shirts, engagement of maids led to a high dependence on the maid to do everything,<br>7) learning from the basics - organising the class, wash hands/flush after going to toilets, <br>8) parents may neglect their children because of work commitments, <br>9) learning boundaries - what is acceptable and appropriate versus what is inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We should implement some form of reading of class/canteen decorum in our classes.<br>- Some of them do not practise this at home but they do this in school<br>- Pupils could also be taught/assigned Housekeeping duties in the classroom/canteen<br>- Habits can also be taught/drilled when in the lower primary levels<br>- What was the success rate then when they read the Decorum and Civility book to the pupils? Was it high? If yes, we could try to employ something similar in our schools now.<br>- Pupils currently do not see simple acts like picking litter or moving obstacles as good deeds. They don’t do it because it does not affect them.</div>]]></description>
