Eastman first introduced the brownie in 1900 and it sold for $1. The name the camera, "Brownie," was inspired by its manufacturer Frank Brownell. Within two years Eastman had crafted a new machine for coating the glass plates for the camera. The significance of this camera was that it gave Anybody a chance to become a photographer, because most people had access to it. It also captured life in public and connected people together that were separated by distance.

Eastman wanted to create a word for his camera company. He wanted to create a word everyone could understand, and one that was easy to pronounce. He started off with the letter "K." He chose K because it was the same letter his mother's maiden name began with. From there he came up with Kodak, registered the trademark and came up with the slogan "You press the button-we do the rest." The significance of this brand, was that it fulfilled the function of newspaper photographs to family and friends. It also paved the way for photo montages

Sometimes it doesn't even need to be explained, because the images can speak more than written words.

Photography links us together just like it did in the 1900s. When Kodak started postcards, he did it so that we were able to start our photographs, facts, and information with other. Today, we continue to do this, but technology has advanced drastically from postcards to social media. We share funny pictures, videos, make digital postcards, and so much more. This bring us together, because when share videos it creates a chain. When someone watches something they find funny they'll forward it their friend. Their friend will then share so on and so fourth. This brings us together, because it seeing visuals entertains us and wehn we share it with others, we are providing the same entertain and enjoy for them too.
