The problem affecting Florida Panthers is that their habitats are continuously shrinking due to society. For example, society has cleared forests to make room for things like malls, schools, and work places. According to "Panthers released into an ever shrinking wild", Society has been the latest threat to the panther species. Oil drilling and rock mines are the second most deadly threats to this species due to the area they are built in.

There are several solutions for this problem. According to Florida representatives and Elizabeth Fliming, solutions could be as easy as adding signs that have caution information on them. According to Elizabeth FLiming the government can also provide signs that give specific speed limits so that the animals in the nearby area will have time to clear the area. One last solution to this problem is by adding fencing around the roads and grass to make sure that the Panthers can't get onto the road as easy, which will prevent accidents.

According to releasing Panthers into ever shrinking wild, changing their environment could potentially effect their predators and prey. They also stated that by changing the Florida Panthers habitat, many things can occur. For example, Panthers could possibly become immune to other animals or plants, they could be able to adapt to things possibly like colder weather, and they might also be able to breed easier because of the new environment. According to student research center Keith Morelli states that this could potentially happen due to the change in area and possibly change in climate.
