The Parintins Folklore Festival is one of Brazil's largest cultural celebrations, held annually at the end of June in the city of Parintins, Amazonas. It is marked by the competition between the two boi-bumbás (boi-bumbás) Garantido (the red ox, the passionate heart) and Caprichoso (the blue ox, the star of the crowd).

✨ About Boi Garantido: Color: Red and white Symbol: A heart Founder: Lindolfo Monteverde Personality: It is called the "boi do povo" (the ox of the people) and is known for its romantic and folksy energy. Fans: Known as the red and white nation, it always fills the Bumbódromo (Bumbódromo) singing passionate songs. Theme: It usually celebrates love, Amazonian culture, indigenous peoples, legends, and popular religion. The Festival takes place at the Bumbódromo, a large stadium shaped like an ox's head, where the two oxen present their shows over three nights of dancing, giant floats, Amazonian legends, indigenous rituals and striking toadas.

It takes place annually on June 28th, 29th, and 30th. It is recognized as a Cultural Heritage of Brazil by IPHAN. There is no jury from Parintins: everyone comes from outside, to avoid favoritism. The competition is judged on 21 official items, such as: shaman, farm lady, standard-bearer, ox master, toada singer, folklore queen, cunhã-poranga, tuxaua, indigenous tribes, Amazonian legends, among others. ❤️ Boi Garantido Its trademark is the red heart on the ox's forehead. Its founder, Lindolfo Monteverde, was a composer and believed that Garantido should be the ox of the common people. One of the main symbols is the toada singer, who leads the live music and captivates the crowd. The fans sing the famous chant: "Garantido!" which echoes throughout the Bumbódromo. One of its strengths is its emotion: Garantido often features themes linked to faith, popular religiosity, and a passion for the Amazon. It's called "Boi do Povão" (The People's Boi) because it's always had a reputation for being closer to the humble public. 👉 Unlike Caprichoso (which relies more on dark theatricality and mystical blues), Garantido is warmer, more romantic, and vibrant, playing to the audience's emotions.

Alunos:Evelyn, Elizabeth, Mylena, Raele e Kelvin

8°c
