I have attached the video in the files unfortunately the file is too big to put on the padlet. In this rehearsal we was focusing on playing in time and incorporating stage presence to get the audience involved. I implemented effects in my guitar playing to add atmosphere we tried a song called don’t panic and tried to incorporate a rap at the end to add innovation however we scrapped this for an original from merkais library. The song is called believer and i innovated by listening to the beat and converting to guitar. In this clip I innovated by adding a whole new riff to we are the people that’s not in the original with pedals.

This was our first rehearsal we tried different songs however it didn’t go very well and we was just picking up our feet

the song isnt as sharp as it needs to be however its a very good start considering only rehearsed a little bit. you can see our stage presence isnt very good however it was okay and we made it to the end

case study 1 My Bloody Valentine

One band that inspired our performance and particularly my part in the performance was my bloody valentine and their use of pedals to create atmosphere. you can hear in the first song we are the people my lead guitar playing is full of reverb. My bloody valentine was known for this and are considered one the pioneers for shoe gaze. The genre got its name from the bands always looking at their pedalboards as they load up their guitars with effects to create different atmospheric sounds. i actually in fact turned my guitars reverb all the way up. this complimented Harrisons rhythm guitar playing which brought out Kyles voice. this combined with Merkais afrobeat drumming shows great collaboration in our performance. Another thing i took inspiration from My bloody Valentine was their stage presence. Instead of jumping around I wanted to come across as more focused whilst still having a good time. I admire bands who look like they're in the zone. I believe this emits a mysterious and cool aura to the audience and I think that itself is intentional stage presence which creates connection between audience and artist. Another thing I incorporated was their style of clothes too as they dressed up in normal clothes to perhaps create an oxymoron in their performance. These guys would play such different music with otherworldly extra terrestrial sounds however be dressed like a guy you see when you pop to the corner shop is really cool. I took heavy inspiration from Bob Marley and the wailers by incorporating a tropical sound in my second song I performed with my band "Believer" the tropical sound of the guitar riff I took off Bob Marley as I admire his relaxing catchy melodies along with the catchy sounds of reggae. although Reggae is played mostly on an organ I took heavy inspiration and incorporated it on my guitar
