The purpose of the unit is mainly to get the attention of the students and motivate them to read books in English. Regarding the initial challenge of the unit, I believe that I will learn to improve my English, expand my vocabulary, and get better my reading comprehension and pronunciation.

Following with the initial challenge I think it is strongly relevant because English is a universal language and as a result that you can have many opportunities and learn much more from different cultures if you put it into practice. Additionally, a lot of studies show that speaking another language helps the memory and the prevention of diseases that affect cognitive functions.

Respecting how to motivate the students, which is the main issue of the unit I think that the best way of solving it is through an enjoyable way to get their attention. Firstly, they have to get used to the language, to do this the idea is that they watch movies and listen to music in English. After that, the best is not to oblige them to read a specific book but to leave them to choose a book to their preference.

I think that people are unmotivated to read in English due to that is something that you are not used to doing because it is not their first language which generates confusion and in the end, it ends being something that they do not enjoy.

In a summary I could say that people are not used to reading in English because there is a lack of motivation but, if it is so difficult you can read slowly and have a dictionary handy to look up words you don't understand. After reading it, look over the text again and summarize what you remember. Little by little you will realize that reading books in English is not that difficult, we only need motivation.

This activity was about describing a taste, color, and feeling using stylistic devices. At first, I believed that I was not going to be able to create a sentence that would be tied to a stylistic device, but then I just chose concepts and developed them, realizing that I am very good at it. However, this greatly improved my understanding of them, as I reinforced my own learning with the help of Miss Vanessa and my personal notes. I believe that imagination is a point that will make reading better understood and that at the end they read words that give their imagination expressiveness, vivacity, or beauty to surprise and excite them.

As a second test, I would like to present you the video of "Figurative languages in the cinema" with which I had a lot of fun analyzing it since it is a very good way to visualize stylistic devices. At the same time, I discovered that this is present everywhere, being the basis of many dialogues in movies and books that leads the reader to delve into the subject of the work, without the author having to explicitly expose the subject to the reader. It is a way for the reader to enter words with his mind and emotions, rather than simply understanding a story or poem. I consider this activity an excellent exercise because it is a very good way to attract readers with these types of videos since cinema is a subject that many people like, pay attention to, and above all enjoy.
Thanks to this, every time I watch a movie, I don't know why I say "that's a stylistic device!" thanks to my previous knowledge

Before making the text commentary we analyzed two readings, "Dagon" and "The Selfish Giant", which helped me a lot to reinforce my reading comprehension in English, managing to understand what the reading wanted to express. In relation to the text analysis questions, I think that each answer depends on each one according to their interpretation of the reading, eliminating stupid or erroneous answers. Besides that, I think this activity is a good way to start reading in English with these types of books since they are more flexible, interesting, and open to any interpretation, which finally helped me to create my point of view. Finally, I would like to remember the skills of these authors because I would really love to have the imagination of H.P Lovecraft and the writing of Oscar Wilde so that I can create my own story.
