In this piece I emphasized the cow with a universe background, cropped and combined different cows face features to show that all cows must be treated equally, and added the nature of India and created like the cow is giving it out. The only part I drew originally is the space background and the Hindu symbols in the side. I also edited the pictures to fit in the color theme and style.

I learned how people in poverty live their day to day lives without any electronics or even knowledge of anything.
 most people in poverty don’t know  where their next meal is going to come from or where they will get clean water from.
My final draft is made to symbolize poverty and I used two of my thumbnails and merged them together and I refined them as well.
I used an illustration of a slum dwelling to symbolize where people in poverty live and I made the boy with a backpack and the chain attached to him because that symbolize that people in poverty are held back because of poverty they aren’t able to go to school, they aren’t educated they aren’t even able to achieve basic necessities like sanitary materials or sometimes they aren’t even able to obtain shelter.
I made this my final draft  because it has symbolism, the boy and the slum dwelling, it has contrast, the difference between life in poverty and our lives, it has emphasis, on the life in poverty and it relates to my POP topic.

When fishes drink water from the polluted river, other predators are going to eat the fishes and eventually die.

In my drawing, I made the from river clean to darker. Which symbolises how the river has changed from the past to nowadays. White things in the river is the bubbles that are floating on the river. These are caused by some chemical things like shampoos, or other non-environmental friendly products.

My POP topic surrounds the idea of modernisation in India and how that affects  rural people, culture, customs and traditions. My piece presents an Indian girl looking at her reflection. The mirror represents what people perceive her to be - either the pressure from her family and community, or the stereotypes of Indians from outsiders to be a very cultural and traditional Indian. Hence the Sari. In her reflection, her eyes are closed, symbolising that she doesn’t relate to or connect to this reflection of herself. In addition to that, the mirror is cracked, showing that the reflection isn’t entirely true either. As I’ve mentioned before, her reflection shows herself wearing a sari, contrary to her true self, who wears a white T-shirt. It represents modernisation and westernisation, (Because it is white). Her reflection is made up of very warm colors, they remind me of India, of the sun, clay, and natural world- and also the warmth and comfort that culture can provide. Meanwhile, the background, and the shirt, have cooler colors that could represent technology, industrialisation, or the general coldness and isolation of our modern world. My big idea here is a girl who struggles with her identity as an Indian who is part of this modern world.

I used oil paint to create this, and although it was difficult, the colors were much more realistic, and I could blend and smooth out the paint with ease (because oil paint takes a long time to dry). I still have a long way to go with this medium, so I plan on practicing!

My first one is a flag with the different castes. The lowest layer of the flag has the Shudras and the Dalits. They are pushing the blue circle from the bottom. The second layer has the Kshatriyas and the Vaishyas. They are stabilizing the blue circle from both sides. The top layer is the upper cast who are holding the circle up. The circle sort of represents the caste system and you see how the lower caste pushes it up (having to) and the middle layer they are stabilizing it (making it normalized) and the upper caste is holding it up to make it stuck in the system. 

2. Its a girl. A simple girl, who is like every other girl. She has a lot of the vocab and problems of the caste system talked about in her hair and outfit. She has a piece of cloth on her mouth that says caste. Its trapping her. No matter if she's from the lower, middle or upper caste she is still trapped. No one can progress not even the upper caste, until this problem is solved. This one is my favorite, because it sort of mixes in a aspect of my community, myself and the problem at hand.  

3. This one is super simple. It just says caste and I made people who represent each one. As the word goes on, the caste goes lower and lower.

I divided the poster into three parts like the Indian flag is divided into 3 colors. Below the word caste shows the lives of Dalits who don’t have the basic rights and access to education. However the section above the word caste shows the lives of Brahmins who belong to the highest class of caste.
2- The second thumbnail is similar with the first thumbnail but it is more detailed by showing each role of the class in the caste system. I tried to show how India’s flag became old and dusty because of the caste system symbolising the conflicts within them.
3- The last thumbnails shows how caste is a form of earth and is collapsing. The drawing shows how people are stitching back up the classes of caste that were divided.

I think I will go with the second thumbnail.
