Therefore it would encourage an increased output. The collectivization was created by Stanlin which later on led to the death of kulaks, wealthy independent farmers, and about one million were deported. This plan was put into action on October first of 1928. In order for the plan to take full effect all machinery had to be updated so that it was modern and maximize product efficiency and production. A large pool of people taught Soviets how to operate the large machinery.

Since there were more workers in the country than before who needed to be fed, a system called collectivization was introduced, which involved the government taking the farms of farmers in the country and turning them into big state farms. Lots of farmers, or kulaks, protested, but many of them were killed.
