We chose to go for red bull and its packaging and campaigns. My role was to design a new limited edition can, so I chose a Valentines Day edition. the most iconic part of RedBull can designs for me is the diagonal line through the middle and the bull cut out on the can opener. I kept the diagonal line layout but changed the colours to pink and purple and changed there bull shape to a heart. The green sheets over the coloured paper cancel out/minimise how strong the colours come across, as green is a neutralising colour. I asked other people on my course who will have an eye for visual communication, my friend who is a bartender, and some other friends that aren't as familiar with either subjects, to get a variety of feedback. The cocktails I decided needed work on most after seeing the feedback were Pina Colada, Long Island Ice tea, Sex on the Beach and Tequila Sunrise. I kept the designs of the Tequila Sunrise and Sex on the Beach but swapped around the colour palettes, since the sex on the beach design actually worked really well for the tequila sunrise, since it had a sunrise/ombre effect. I also narrowed my style down to a more graphic design approach with my illustrations.
