Animal experimentation is the usage of non-human specimens as test subjects to control variables that affect the biological system. A viewpoint on this social issue is that this practice has not impacted biodiversity any more rapidly than other pollutants. These tests are necessary and accurate in determining what potential treatments and drugs can be safe for humans. They also ensure human safety in the process, as no test subjects are being exposed to toxicity or harmful chemicals. An opposing viewpoint on this social issue is that this practice has noticeably impacted biodiversity as well as violate animal rights as these tests being practiced are proven to be unnecessary and cruel. There are alternative methods to testing treatments that use human cells and human cell lines as well as virtual models. These methods produce faster delivery of results with greater applicability to humans.

1: No, animal testing has not impacted the environment to extremity nor rapidly. It is necessary to test potential products and chemicals that can be safe for human use on non-human specimens.
2. Yes, animal testing has noticeably impacted the environment through the amount of waste each test produces. Syringes, medical equipment, supplies, and animal carcasses are disposed of, increasing the amount of chemicals released into communities. It isn't necessary as alternative methods to testing treatments have been deemed accurate and safe. Vitro testing as well as computerized testing can be practiced and less costly at that. I stand with viewpoint #2, that animal testing should be banned and relied on less in the general public.

Animal experimentation has noticeably impacted biodiversity as well as violating animal rights as these tests being practiced are unnecessary and cruel. (See more under the research question). Brief evidence as to why experimentation is unnecessary: "regardless of the disease category studied, fails to reliably inform human health: (1) the effects of the laboratory environment and other variables on study outcomes, (2) disparities between animal models of disease and human diseases, and (3) species differences in physiology and genetics."

Animal experimentation has not impacted biodiversity any more rapidly than other pollutants. These tests are necessary and accurate in determining what potential treatments and drugs can be safe for humans. They have helped us determine some potentially harmful chemicals and have supported our research for cures and treatments for specific diseases that both animals and humans can contract in the past. These tests can provide information about the way animals and humans function and react to certain chemicals and substances. We have learned a lot about the anatomy of different types of animals as well as how they relate to human anatomy. Brief evidence as to why experimentation is necessary: "The Society of Toxicology, says simply: "Research involving laboratory animals is necessary to ensure and enhance human and animal health and protection of the environment.
Animalresearch.info has a list of all the diseases for which we now have treatments thanks, in part, to animal testing: from Aids to whooping cough, the safety of new treatments was first assessed through testing them on animals."
Links provided:
https://link.gale.com/apps/doc/A307471159/SUIC?u=la99595&sid=bookmark-SUIC&xid=76bf8bc0

https://www.nabr.org/biomedical-research/importance-biomedical-research#:~:text=Typically%2C%20animal%20studies%20are%20essential,to%20perform%20in%20human%20subjects.

Supreme court ruled (8-1) that a federal law banning depictions of animal cruelty violated the First Amendment's guarantee of freedom of speech. The law makes exceptions for depictions that have serious "religious, political, educational, historical" values, excluding the possession of depictions of illegal acts of animal cruelty for commercial gain (creation, sale, and possession of) ex. dogfighting, small animals getting stomped. Held that law was overbroad and facially invalid. Animal testing and cruelty was therefore not added to the list of constitutionally unprotected categories of speech.
