In the first week our role was to listen to these basic songs and try to improve them by adding more sections and structure, and experimenting with different types of instruments to see how they worked with each piece. After trying some different arrangements out we then listed them and decided which one we like and one that could be developed even further. As a group we then decided we needed to discuss the plan for the event, for example, how many songs are there going to be in our set, how we are going to publicise the event etc. 
As a target for the next week, we agreed we all needed to individually think about what we wanted when it came to instrumentation for our own songs.
Overall this was a really successful session as we set down some ground rules and we're able to move on to make this event as good as it can be.

We had a really positive contribution to the group, although unfortunately we had a few who didn't contribute to the group as well as we hoped, we made these songs more of a priority as they would bring the whole group down. Some people believed that we had a while left and didn't start to even look at their songs, this was very worrying towards myself and Lewis.

At the end of week 2, the whole group had discussed and decided to start designing individual logos for each slot on the stage. We agreed that this was the only aspect that would be unique and not stick to a certain theme. To make this possible each member was to go away and come back with a digital version of their logo to be included within the event, all were successful on this task.]]> 2017-06-22 09:38:03 UTC https://padlet.com/leon_auckland/cpr2ejag3vs0/wish/177187429 leon_auckland https://padlet.com/leon_auckland/cpr2ejag3vs0/wish/177187480 At the start of week 3 we all came together to look at each others logos and give constructive criticism to each persons logo, ensuring they will be the best they can be. Throughout the week the whole group progressed brilliantly, we started to notice a big improvement to each other's song, also making more improvements as the week progressed. At the end of the week we started to discuss a set list, the set list didn't take too long as everyone in the group was very vocal about their decisions and at the end of the week we put together a brilliant set list. It had to be adjusted several times but nothing major. 
One major point that we kept going over was the fluency between performers and swapping over. We also needed to decide how to conduct our pieces to keep them flowing in between different songs, we decided at the end of week 4 that we would have both drum and bass alternately playing a simple rhythm to keep the event flowing in between songs. This even worked as people were introducing their selves as we had control of the volume. 
During this we thought about having a group song at the end of the performance to finish the night of. Many songs came to mind but the one we deiced to settle on was 'The Chain' by Fleetwood Mac. We decided this as it is such a diverse song and so many different sections for everyone to shine throughout. But from then onwards the song got stronger and stronger. Unfortunately some people we have one or people family problems that were impacting on the group as they couldn't come in, leaving there instruments and just being late which impacted our whole group. As it got closer to the show Lewis and I spoke to the people we had to and we saw a raise in attendance which allowed us all help each other out and work as a team.   
From then we focused on multiple run throughs to perfect any songs that needed changing, throughout the run throughs we had many brilliant performances with minor changes, the only thing that could have gone better was the changing between songs, this was still sloppy but we knew a way to speed it up...]]> 2017-06-22 09:40:07 UTC https://padlet.com/leon_auckland/cpr2ejag3vs0/wish/177187602 leon_auckland https://padlet.com/leon_auckland/cpr2ejag3vs0/wish/177187610 Lewis and I announced that the best way to speed up the changes was to have people with instruments ready side of stage, tuned and ready to go. This sped everything up and worked very well in our favour.
During week 6 we had multiple sound tech run throughs, to ensure that all equipment was set up properly ready for the event, throughout the run throughs everything was perfect, from the performances to the sound tech, everything went as it should have gone.
