--- An Epic story is a long poem, typically one derived from ancient oral tradition, narrating the deeds and adventures of heroic or legendary figures or the history of a nation.

When it comes to epic stories and how they are formed there are five important concepts that you need to know in order to determine if it is an epic story

--- First you have to look for a large scale problem. Usually tragic and catastrophic if left unfixed.

--- Second you have to look for who the problem affects. This usually a kingdom or a world as a whole.

--- Third you have to look for the main hero. They are very brave and usually overly-powerful, able to win over the people and stop the issue.

--- Fourth in every epic story will always have obstacles in the hero's way, to either prove his/her strength or the prove the difficulty of the situation.

--- Last thing in an epic story is the resolution. This is the final fight, where are things are decided and where the problem is resolved.
