In this article, Mike Yates describes his experience as a teacher with ADHD. His take on his experience is positive and he thinks of his ADHD as a strength rather than a deficit. He says, "When I became a teacher, I learned that I no longer needed to hide. I could say the words and identify with a part of myself. I embraced my ADHD and everything that comes with it. " His perspective helps fight the stereotypes about disability that unfortunately exist in society.

This TED Talk describes the experience of Jessica McCabe with ADHD. She talks about how much it has affected her life, but also, learned that she wasn't alone and that there are many other people in the world who also have ADHD. When she learned to shift her focus from her weaknesses to her strengths, she learned the many positives that ADHD had to offer. Jessica says, “But ADHD brains have a lot to offer the world. We tend to be generous, funny, creative. ADHD'ers are 300% more likely to start their own business."

One parent shares, “You have no idea what the person next to you may be confronting. Parents of ADHD kids are working very hard to help our children thrive. If we seem overwhelmed, it’s because we are! It can be very emotional to constantly advocate for someone you love so much."
