Badminton is an Olympic sport. This is a game that is played on a 20 by 44 foot court. . A player must serve with their front foot behind the service box line. Otherwise a point is awarded to the opposition. Another rule of badminton is that if the shuttle hits the net but land in the court then a point is given to the player who played that shot. However if the shuttle hits the net and lands out of the court. Point is awarded to the opposition. In addition one other rule of badminton is that if the player makes any sort of contact with the net then a point if given to the opponent. The service rule is that a serve must be underarm and has to be struck below the waist. Otherwise the service judge signals a foul and a point given to the opposite and loses the serve. The badminton games are up to 21 and in order for a player to win there must me a 2 point margin to win. The national governing body for badminton is badminton England.

The rules of ice hockey. In order for the game to start the referee drops the puck on the centre circle where a face off takes place between the two centres to try gain possession of the puck. The game lasts for three 20 minute periods however the clock stops when the play is stopped so that there is no additional time. If the scores are level at the end of the 60 minutes then there is a extra 5 minute period where it is next goal winner. However if a goal is still not scored by the end of overtime then play goes into a shoot out where it is best of three goals. Minor penalty's such as interfering with a player who does not have possession of the puck then the player is sent to the penalty box for two minutes. As a result of this the play becomes 5 on 4 with the team who gave up the penalty being short handed. If another player commits a penalty while the other is in the box then play becomes 5 on 3. If any other penalty's as made then the player is still sent to the box but play stays 5 on 3. For a goal to be scored the puck must cross the goal line and have had made contact with a stick. If the puck is deliberately kicked in or hit in with the hand the will be disallowed. The national governing body of ice hockey is the international ice hockey federation. One attacking skill of ice hockey is the slap shot. This shot is used mainly for some distance from net. This shot consists of the player bringing the stick to their waist and then hitting it down onto the puck towards net. One defensive skill is the body check. This consists of the player using their hips or shoulders to make contact with the player to hit them of the puck. One serial skill is know a deke this is term when a player uses certain skills to past a player. This consists of a player skating and then performing the deke to get past them. in addition the players comply the rules of the game which has a positive impact on their performance because they are able to play the game to their best ability without being sent to the sin bin limiting their performance as they are in the box unable to play.

One defensive skill in badminton would be the player taking their shot places the shuttle high it to the back corners of the court this is defensive because it makes it harder for the opponent to play an attacking shot. One attacking skill in badminton is smash shot. This shot is generally played when the shuttle is hit high in the air so that the player is able to pick the spot where the want to smash the shuttle into the surface. The serial skill in badminton is returning a shot. This is a serial skill because it involves the player using two skills at once. Using balance to get into a set position and being able to use co ordination to be able to hit the shuttle when returning a shot.

The effects this has on the players if not complying with these rules is that as a result of not sticking with the rules the team becomes short handed. This has a negative effect on the team as well as the player because the team has too sit in the penalty box for a certain amount of time which means the player is not putting his skills to use because he is sat in the box. Also this effects the team because they have to play with a man down as a result be constantly on the defence as a result has a high chance of conceding a goal putting the team on the back foot and trailing the game.

This has a positive outcome on the player because if the opposition Is at the far end of the court the drop shot is the best shot to play to score a point against the opposition because it is heading directly to the ground.

The drop shot is a skill and also is a tactic in badminton. This is a tactic during a game of badminton. This because if the opposition is at the back of the court a strong tactic to gain a point would be use this shot to hit the ball at the front of the court to get a point because the player will not be able to reach the shuttle. This is also a skill because to play this successfully the player must hold the racket facing up and apply little resistance when hitting the shuttle.

One skill used in Ice Hockey is know as the sauce pass. this is where the player chips the puck just high enough to go over the oppositions stick to their team mate. This skills is mainly used as a pass across the ice to open up space to lead to a goal scoring opportunity. players will usually use this pass in a 2 on 1 situation as the defender will try to block the pass therefore the attacker has to chip the puck for the pass to be successful. One tactic the players use during a game is bringing an extra forward onto the ice when on a power play. This will happen because as the defenders are a player down they will not look to attack as a result of this the attackers can take a defender off a replace this as a attacker to gain more fire power in front of the net resulting to more scoring chances.
