         <title>Transforming lessons using the SAMR model</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Original task: Sample experimental results given on paper. Derived values to be calculated and a graph to be plotted.<br><br>Substitution: The students are given time to do the calculations and then plot the graph. The correct values and graph are then put up on a projector so that the students can check their work at the same time.<br><br>Augmentation: Use of a spreadsheet to calculate the values and plot the graph.<br><br>Modification: Use of interactive tasks such as PISA so that students can manipulate the independent variable and see the effect on the dependent variable.<br><br>Redefinition: Students collaborate in groups. Each group creates a set of values and a graph for making one of the controlled variables into an independent variable.</div>]]></description>
