Home Alone

You're parents are working the overnight shift at the hospital tonight, so you are left home alone. You click on the tv, and there is a news report about an escaped murderer on the loose in your town. You shrug, turn of the tv, and get ready to go to bed. You start to head upstairs when you remember you forgot to lock the sliding glass door. You trudge over to the door, as you are very tired, and you go to lock it, when you see a man standing in the snow outside of your house. The man standing there matched the exact discription of the guy on the news. You notice something glinting light in his hand; a knife maybe. You can feel yourself go pale as you reach for the phone to dial 911. You frantically glance back over to the door, and he is much closer now. But something is... off. You squint as you hold the phone up to your ear. You drop the phone in shock just as the operator picks up. There aren't any footprints in the snow. He also isnt outside. It's his reflection. END

"Officer, Officer!!! I-I just l-l-looked away f-for a second, a-and then sh-she was g-g-GONE!" I sobbed my heart out helplessly as I stuttered like a broken record player, mascara running down my face. I looked in the mirror and grinned evilly."Thats better. Much better." I told myself as I picked up the phone to dial the police, my fingers smearing red streaks over the back of it. I have always been a good liar, so the phone call was a breeze. The cleanup afterwards was hell, though. The cop said he would do a look around town, which turned out perfectly because I hid the body where he would never think to look: in the river. They filed a missing report on my "dear" baby Abby after "a vigorous search." The damn baby was a pain anyway. Cry, poop, sleep. Always the same. She was an accident, and the father was never there. Too busy with his mistress to give a 🤬. I handled him the same way I handled the 🤬 baby and the annoying neighborhood kids. Word on the news was that there had been an increase of "child abductions" in our area. The dumbasses'll never know. To blind and stupid to understand the truth. And even if the did know, they would refuse to believe it. It how our society works now adays. Refusing to believe what is clearly obvious. I remember the day where little Suzanna went missing. I had permanent red on my hands that day, no matter how much I washed them. But of course, no one ever suspects the cute tiny lady across the street. I did everyone a favor, in my opinion. Theyll get over the loss of Tim soon enough. Ha! I even remember how "devestanted" I was when my husband went missing. It's a shame it didn't work out. Its been a long, sleepless week. I decided to reward myself with a relaxing bubble bath. "Perhaps," I said, "if I take enough baths, they will wash away the red sins I will hold with me for the rest of my life." I stepped in the steamy tub, and for the first time all week, I started to feel the guilt of taking away the lives of the young ones who still had so much future ahead of them (Before I came along, of course.) I felt more hot tears roll down my face. When I finally gathered myself together, the water water went cold. It was strange, because the water usually stayed warm for a while. I stepped out of the tub and ran a new bath, listening to the water running. I caught a glance of the antique mirror my mother gave me. I killed her too, but everyone just assumed she died of old age. Thats when I saw them. Abby. Suzanna. My husband. My grandmother. There were even the others that I had been planning to handle later. Except something was off. Well two things, actually. 1) They were standing right behind me in the reflection. 2) There was black water pouring out of their eyes, into the tub. I gasped and turned behind me. The water was thick and black. But... where were they?! I wish I had heard their laughter behind me 5 seconds earlier, but I didn't. By the time I heard it, it was too late. My head was slammed into the black bath water, drowning me in the slowest, most painful way possible. I had fought until every last gasp of my breath had been used. I could feel the water in my lungs as everything went black. The last thing I remember before drowning to death were there pale, pale faces with the water pouring out of their eyes. Grinning as if they had just won a war that had been fought for year. I guess you could say I deserved it. And I did. I was too bad for hell and of course heaven didnt want me, So now I wander the Earth as a lost spirit, constantly running form those whom I've killed in the afterlife. They are still seeking revenge. Be careful, you may be next

My mom had called me about "a family emergency", and how "I had to be there right away." I rolled my eyes as I picked up the phone to call an uber, as I don't drive. The uber came 15 minutes earlier than he should have, but I didnt question it, I just figured there was no traffic. He wasn't in a very chatty mood and wasn't in his uniform. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat as he gave me a murderous look. I then felt a buzz in my pocket. It was a message from my uber driver that read: "Hey, I'm outside."
