Although Adnan has been sentenced to 30-plus years of Jail after being convicted for murdering Ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee, the court has no physical proof that Adnan actually murdered her. Instead, they just have a story from Adnan's supposed alibi, good friend: Jay.

Hae and Adnan were your typical teenage couple. They were young, in love, and always with each other...secretly that is. Although when they broke up, it was a rocky road but they treated it as nothing other than a typical high school break-up as Adnan calims. However, the State claims that this was a motive for Adnan to kill Hae. But, why would he? Break-ups happen all the time, why would this one be any different?

The 14 Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states that "...a person is innocent until proven guilty." Then how come, did the state sentence Adnan to prison if they do not know if he actually committed the murder?

according to police reports, it would have taken Adnan 21 minutes to commit Hae's murder. To test the theory to see if it's possible to commit the crime in 21 minutes, the narrator Sarah and her team members try to recreate the exact events that took place, all within 21 minutes. After recreating the murder, they conclude that it would have been impossible to commit the murder in 21 minutes due too certain factors such as: traffic, the fact that manual strangulation takes 4 min or more to kill someone, and the fact that even if Adnan did successfully kill Hae, he would've had to take her body from her car and place it into the trunk of his, at 2:30 pm in broad daylight, in Best Buy parking lot, without anyone seeing.

Back to Jay, the alibi of Adnan in the murder. There aren't some things about Jay that don't add up, other than the fact that his stories literally change 3-4 times within interrogations. If Adnan did commit the murder, wouldn't you agree that it's odd that Jay didn't call the cops and report Adnan? Or leave an anonymous tip?
