The world war was a historical time period from 1939 - 1945. Around 70 million people served in the war. The war started when Adolf Hitler's invasion of Poland in September 1939 drove Great Britain and France to declare war on Germany. Around 19 million Russians died in world war 2. Nazi's were led by Adolf Hitler, who wanted to rid of the world of jews. Anne Frank, a jew, hid in Amsterdam to escape the Nazi Germany persecution in Europe. Unfortunately she was found by the Nazi military and was murdered. Anne frank, was not the only person murdered by the Nazi Germany, In fact, there were over 6 million Jews that were killed in horific manner in ww2, simply because they were jewish.

The second World War consisted of two sides: The Axis Powers which were the side that consisted with Nazi Germany, Italy, and then Japan.

The allies consisted of many countries including Great Britain, United States, Soviet Union, and many others.

The axis power was taking a lot of Europe over but could not manage to take over Britain or the Soviet Union. The decline of the axis powers started in 1943 after the defeat in Stalingrad a battle to invade the Soviet Union. This was one of the first big battles Germany surrendered. The defeat was most likely caused because of the Nazis being overconfident and they underestimated the amount of Russian reserves.

Gas Chambers

Gas Chambers were one of the ways the Jews were killed in the concentration camps. They undressed them and then led them into the Chambers, after this they would be poisoned by the gas.

What are Concentration Camps?

Concentration Camps were where many prisoners of war went especially the Jews, here you would be stripped of everything and then you would get little too no food and then do slavery work for the germans.

Eduard Bloch was Hitlers doctor at a young age, he was Jewish and lived in Austria. When the Nazis annexed Austria Hitler did not kill him or punish him for being Jewish. He did this because when his family could not pay for a doctor in full price Eduard Bloch often reduced the price or in some circumstances even did it for free. As a thanks for this Hitler let Eduard Bloch leave Austria and go to America with more money than Jews were allowed if they were given permission to leave the country.

The photo has a huge amount of young men dressed in black war uniforms. They are holding up signs with the Nazi Germany flag that say "Germany Awakening" on them. I think this shows that most of the men either felt forced to hold this flag up, or felt strong, confident powerful and superior.
