These showed different civil defense trainings and the importance of individual roles in preparing and surviving nuclear attacks. Cold War civil defence films often naturalized nuclear attacks. Most had the technique of scaring the viewers then comforting them to get them to comply. The film shows a fake city being built to test if it could survive an atomic blast. I can't believe that back then, people actually thought duck and cover would save them from a nuclear attack. Maybe it was more to give people false hope. I don't think that naturalizing nuclear attacks was the best idea. If I were living in this time period I would want the whole, plain truth given to me.
