I teach subjects such as finance and investment because I am fascinated by financial markets. In my mind, everyone - but especially business management students - should obtain financial literacy. It's also important to demonstrate the interconnections between individual subject areas to students, so they can gain a meta-level perspective.

In my free time I love to travel (my favorites are cities or beaches), spend time with my family and friends, or go for walks in the woods with our dog.

I am thrilled to be an English language instructor at the CUAS School of Management. In my classes, I focus on getting to know my students in small and interactive settings and help them feel comfortable in an international work environment. Additionally, as a former computer game tester and translator for Sony, I know first-hand that improving language skills doesn't necessarily have to be a tedious experience. I strive to create a fun and engaging learning environment for my students to help them achieve their language goals.

Outside of work I spend a lot of time with my children and watch far too little hockey. If you’re from around Villach, I better not tell you which team I support. 😉

If you have any questions about English language training at the School of Management, get in touch at g.jeschke@fh-kaernten.at

I have been fascinated by the world of hotel management and gastronomy since my apprenticeship in a restaurant and kitchen. What makes working in these fields so special to me are the possibilities to create special moments for guests, work in teams, celebrate successes together ("work hard, play hard"), be part of international surroundings, complete diverse working tasks, and all other aspects of working in hospitality. The professional experience I can share with my students has ranged from apprentice to student, intern, consultant, and trainer.

Preparing students for leadership positions in hospitality in the last few years has brought me much joy and been a privilege. Next to developing subject-specific and methodical knowledge, students undergo much personal development, which is vital in an industry where employees and guests have to be inspired.

In my teaching and research I focus on strategic and operative hotel and gastronomy management, especially in the areas of quality of service, digitalization, and marketing and optimization.

My love for quality food and drinks is reflected in my free time, where I explore them in the Alp-Adriatic Region.

The topics of IT and digitalisation have been with me since the beginning of my professional career. My degree in Applied Computer Science (Business Informatics) was the basis for this. After working in the private sector for 15 years, five of which were spent abroad, the vacancy for a professorship in business informatics at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences led to a career change. This gave me the opportunity to utilise the knowledge I had acquired in a targeted manner in research and teaching. The field of digitalisation is very diverse and is developing rapidly. I really appreciate supporting young people in their professional and personal development.
